Kizer Splinter or zt 450CF? opinions

Oh I reached out to Great Lakes Outpost and they were awesome. They said send it back to them for a full refund. So I'll send it back to them, they'll send it back to ZT. The result is an angry customer who had to jump through hoops and waste money for no reason, an authorized ZT retailer who now has a disappointed customer PLUS has a lemon they have to give a refund for and send back for reimbursemeny, when ZT already has the knife in hand. They can correct the problem themselves, right now, resulting in a happy customer and a happy ZT retailer. I can't fathom what they're hoping to gain as a company from such poor customer service.
Oh I see now. You joined yesterday and this is the third thread you have brought this issue up in only to bash on ZT. You might want to go to those other threads and explain that you contacted the dealer and are getting a refund.

Kinda torn between a Kizer and ZT. I like the more narrow blade and interested in a flipper for an EDC (for a while at least).

They both have pros and cons and the Kizer is a fair bit cheaper.

Opinions?
No kiz er shmi er never ever. They will just piss on you if you expect adequate support. I will never deal with em again.

ZT. One of the best smaller knives ever made. I love my 0450 and 460. And their Awesome folks too!

I truly wish they would've allowed me to say the same. Aside from the sorry grinds, the knife was great.

Why not try to get a replacement from the dealer? See if the next one is more to your liking? Just seems odd that one experience had burned you so hard...

Lots of odd stuff going on here. I think the user name is very telling alone. It's like a drive by attempted assassination of a company's image. A company that worked hard to received a well earned reputation for having an outstanding warranty. I have a hard time believing that just threw all that out the window. The cagey nature of the poster and the lack of details makes the whole thing stinky. Even that dude who tried to claim his knife wouldn't lock up had the sense of mind to post fake videos of the knife unlocking.

If there really was a grind issue, it should have gone right back to the dealer, that is there job. The warranty is for defects that arise outside of the return period. End of story. I bought a TV a few years back, got it home and the bezel was completely discolored. I couldn't imagine contacting the manufacturer and trying to make them fix it. It went right back to the dealer who happily exchanged it.

I haven't missed this place.

As someone who owns both the knives I thought I would share some pics. In my opinion, the ZT is easier to use and easier in hand because it fills the hand better. The splinter is a great knife but is a bit slim and not entirely comfortable because of it.

I don't own a Kizer but I do love the 0450CF. I don't carry mine often as I prefer a larger knife, but for a good pocketable well made knife it can't be beat.

I've always had great customer service from ZT both in person and through their mail in service. I'm sure if there were issues ZT would take care of them. It sounds like there is more to the story than is being told.

And yet, there's not. I apologized for the thread going down this route so please just let it be.

"I gave them a first chance when I sent it in, and second chance when I called and spoke to Elizabeth the first time. When I called a second time and talked to Elizabeth, who passed me to Dan, who passed me to Josh, that was the 3rd chance. Josh is apparently the manager of the warranty department and he told me anyone would be happy to buy that knife. He said he could see the difference in grinds from one side to the other but the badly ground blade was within tolerance for them. I asked him if he would be happy receiving that knife as a buyer and he had to lie through his teeth to say yes after stuttering about "well, not everyone would notice that", and "knife people have higher expectations than normal people" and that if he had bought that knife he'd just return it. Why? Why would he return it if there is nothing wrong with it? Sorry shill for a sorry company if you ask me. Great Lakes Outpost, who I purchased the knife from, said they'd do a full refund. So I'll send it back to them, they'll send it back to ZT. You woke up two other older threads in Good Bad and Ugly to bitch about your experience. You brought this thread up also just to bitch. Got my hands full with the one that's still open.
Thread closed.
