KMG Grinder issues, please help.(fixed thanks!)

FYI that looks to be a power twist link belt from usaknifemaker. Does your deal include a contact wheel?

That's quite a drive but you'll love the grinder if everything is as advertised.

Oh I know. Caffeine pills will be coming with me. It's the only way I'll be able to afford all of the stuff being offered though. I had actually planned to get the small wheel holder/wheels and extra tool arm with the 3-speed KMG this week. With shipping costs it would have been around $1840 and I wouldn't be getting the Power Twist Link belt, extra abrasive belts, VFD, or the 2hp motor.

I'm wondering if the whole setup will fit in a Ford Focus...

I love my KMG grinder so I advise "do it". If you are not satisfied after a year then sell it for top dollar and buy something else. I will never sell mine even if I buy another grinder someday I noticed he has the machine set up for 115 volt power even though it is a 2 hp motor. If you can get 220 in your garage or shop then make that a priority but make darn sure that you change the power cable to 12 gauge and really make sure that you change the jumper inside the drive to the 220 option. Look at the wiring video on the Beaumont website under variable speed grinders. Also save you pennies for an eight or ten inch wheel so you can hollow grind. Don't spend every penny though so you can buy some steel. You won't be sorry.

Having done a lot of cost comparison shopping on Grinders, I can tell you that is a great value. I would make that drive, and let us know what you think when you get it set up in your shop!

Travel safe!!

Good question Strigamort, what say you JG, sounds like a good idea--especially given that you already figured it with cost you $120 or so to drive it.

Shipping would probably cost $300 and he isn't willing to do it.

PT Doc, yes. Castle Rock, CO

Off to rent a car unless a better option arises...

It is a good deal. You got to do the leg work every now and then . If you add that package up it far exceeds what you are paying . I have the same set up plus a 8 inch contact wheel . I don't have the red belt and the machine is smooth and quit so if it get even quitter with the link belt then that's even more a bonus. I had to drive 8 hours round trip to get my harness tester and it was well worth my time. Good luck !

what is the cost new for this package exactly as he it's selling it?

ok, 2179.

so 1700 + 200 for travel expenses. so$1900. I'd this really that good of a deal considering all your time?

After car rental and gas... How much are you going to save compared to a new machine?

Shipping from Beaumont is $200 so more like $2400. He's also throwing in $200 worth of unused belts.
