Combo-edges
Late lockups(regarding liner & framelocks)
Blade play
Uncomfortable handles
Sloppy F&F
Uneven bevels
Gritty actions
Uncentered Blades

When I purchase a like new/mint/NIB/LNIB/never used/never carried/perfect knife that is no where near like new/mint/NIB/LNIB/never used/never carried/perfect.

the local knife shops. I dont usually frequent them but there happens to be one across from Nordstrom's so it is a nice escape while my wife feeds her shoe obsession.

It's certainly worth pointing out to your wife, if you need to, that she has more pairs of shoes than you do knives (I'm assuming), and that most of her shoes cost more than your knives (I'm assuming again). Just in case you get heat from the Mrs. about your obsession. :D

My biggest peeve is that there are always more knives than money!

Also, I hate it when I feel guilty because I feel I have somehow 'neglected' an inanimate object by not giving it any pocket time for a week or two.

Do people who play with model trains have these issues? :o

My built in wife response: shoes & purses for women= knives & guns for men.

Pet peeves, in no particular order:
serrations
loose locking mechanism
stupidly expensive custom knives that can't do any more than a quality USA made one.
anyone who asks "what do/why do you carry a knife
anyone who says "well, if you got nothing to hide, then what are you worried about"

My response to that is "Just because i choose to exercise my constutional right, does NOT mean i have anything to hide"

People who go like "JIMPING JIMPING JIMPING JIMPING!" or "NO TRACTION OMG IT SUXXXX!"

Well I guess that's more of a people's pet peeve than really a knife. Ironically I do like nutnfancy he's just annoying in that aspect. I highly doubt you will ever grip a blade so loosely that you will slide forward and cut your tendons.

When Peoples Say.......
"Don't you already have enough knives"
"Why do you carry a knife and a gun, what do you think your Rambo"

and when my non-knife friends see a assisted opening knife I have and ask...
"Hey I thought switch blades were illegal"
and
"why do I need a knife when I could just ask you to use yours"

People who speak out about liner locks being terrible that have never had a bad experience with one, nor can they cite any specifics about liner lock failures.

People who form bad opinions on liner locks based on a cheap knife.

People who make horrible suggestions when people ask for advice including
- suggesting knives way out of their budget
- completely ignoring someone's conditions: "I don't like FRN/Zytel." - "GET A DELICA!"
- suggesting overkill/inappropriate knives: "I need a gentleman's knife for EDC in an office environment." - "ZT 0301!" "Emerson CQC7, you'll need a wave"

Fixed blades that have nothing at the end of the handle where it meets the blade to stop your hand from sliding onto the knife. I love Bark River knives, but some of their designs scare me. I can just picture putting some pressure and having your tight grip slide right onto the blade. Scary.

Overuse of the term "tactical" ...make blood shoot out of my eyes:barf:
Paint it flat black and put on CF scales and presto-wizzo ...TACTICAL:jerkit:
This ranks right up there with "assault rifle"! Sorry but after 23 yrs in the employ of Uncle Sugar I'm over this infatuation.

Cammo blades...Geese there are just thousands of examples of
'ops gone wrong' due to a team member being compromised by NOT having that 'Nam tiger-stipe pattern on a the blade! Dang WHAT was Bo Randle thinking?
