Knife and Watch combo. Let's see them!

I'll see the knife and watch, and raise you a compass! Someone at a store ask me why I was wearing two watches. I showed them one was a compass and explained, as a photographer; knowing where the sun will be when, can make a huge difference in the clarity of the details in an image.

Nothing wrong with wearing two watches, but a watch and a compass is WAY cooler. 😎Speaking of cool: What is that nice fixed blade?

It's one of Andy Roy's, Fiddleback Forge "Boudreaux" models. It looked a handy, useful, smallish knife when I saw it on his website. I thought the colors should pop nicely in images and stand out well in a project on noteworthy plants - edible, medicinal, and dangerous - I am working on for the wilderness and survival skills section in the community.

Then when I researched the name, and saw the farmer/field origin of it, I knew it was perfect for me and grabbed it. I'm glad I did, I was right, it's perfect for this project, and if he does one later, I may grab one with an all wooden handle, just because I like it that much.

Casio was where I started in the late 80s. I wore a Casio chronograph for about 4 years, and it wasn't anything negative about the watch that made me throw it away, it was a Valentine's Day gift from my ex wife, and I didn't want to be reminded of that every time I checked the time.

Then I traded into a couple of Citizen Ecodrives, foolishly thinking the Eco part referred to automatic, because I was trying to get away from batteries. I had had them for weeks before realizing they were solar.

I have switched to Seiko autos, Seiko 5s and a Seiko Presage, because I wanted away from batteries and I want accuracy and reliability, and their price point is about as high as I can justify where I am in life at the moment.

I started out with a Timex Mercury when I was 9, I wish decent manuals were still that affordable. I can remember my dad saying it "cost him 2 hour's pay and I better take care of it". Now the "more affordablle quality autos" I buy cost me 2 or 3 day's pay...

People say we need to make more money, I say we need to make our money worth more again...

I’m huge fan of the Khaki…several sizes and options to choose from. Keeps great time. Tons of reserve power.
