I voted to keep it in the package. If you preserved it in a shadow box with uv resistance glass it might be worth something when the economy recovers. That being said I had a daisy pop gun modeled after the red rider BB gun. A collector offered me $$ for it even though it showed wear ant tear from me playing with it growing up. Instead I dipped the tip in orange paint because it looks real and handed it to my then 5 year old. I got more enjoyment from hearing that gun go off while he was playing with his friends than money could ever bring. Food for thought.

It's not good for the knife to be sealed inside that plastic. I would carefully slice open the plastic and save the cardboard artwork. Let's face it, the knife will probably never be worth any great amount of money in or out of the package. Enjoy the knife while you're still here.

Looks just like an Imperial "Frontier" stockman. I'd personally enjoy it more in the package. Display this one and save a search on the big auction site till you find a user.

What if, instead of a knife, you had Jesus - The Action Figure, unmolested under that bubble?

Asking for a friend.

It's easy, John! Found this for $10 at a gun show. Maybe I coulda flipped it for $12, but I'm not a flipper. No, it's not as cool as a Red Ryder, and I know you've already made up your mind. I'm just not a "leave it in the package" kind of guy!

And to all the nay sayers....i hate blister packaging...whoever invented should be keelhauled and then blisterpackaged!
Leave it in the sun for a few days to "air"...
It will go yellow and brittle and crack apart anyway....the knife will be ok...be sure to remove the picture though...its cool.

You people lost sight of the Main Thing :D wood for the trees...;) The real dilemma lies in WHICH KNIFE are you going to use to open it? :D This could delay the opening process for quite some time.....

meako meako is correct in his hatred for blisters...but he fails to mention the little known fact, to those in the know, that ageing blisters become tombs for knives because they give off fumes like Cell :eek:OMG get it out before it it starts rotting!!!

Only paper impregnated with a volatile corrosion inhibitor works. When it comes in a cardboard tube it's even better.

Dan.
