Knife Fondling?

Damn, how'd you know? :D I've been playing with a Mini CQC7 ever since i got it from a trade.

So we got one liar in here so far :D haha I kid I kid c:
I have been flicking open my Kershaw OD-2 a lot since I got it too. I like that overdrive mechanism.

This one today, next to me on the couch while on my tablet and at my laptop:

I find it fascinating that it exhibits one of the smoothest pivots I've ever experienced, including my Ripple and ZT560. It feels utterly frictionless. Weird!

Me either. I don't see the point in using my knives as a worry stone or prayer beads.
I don't know that anyone sees a point in it. It's just something (or nothing) to do. I admire my knives the way I might admire a sunset, or the view out my window. Beats a poke in the eye.

There isn't a point to it really. Like allyourblood said, it's just something people do. Its a little thing that keeps me occupied when I need to be.
I enjoy the craftsmanship of good quality folders, and like to feel it through my fingers.

That hole on the end of the BK14 handle is pretty dangerous, I always feel the need to spin it around

Hahaha!!! I've done that many many times, it is pretty fun (and dangerous).

And as for myself, guilty as charged. Right now I am flicking open and closed my new BM Contego, it's only a few days old and I'm still breaking in the Axis lock.

I try not to constantly open and close my blades. Maybe when I get a new one but not much more than that. I don't like causing premature wear on the lock.

If I do it's never my Sebbie or anything, normally just a cheapie. It's definitely fun though.

The OD-2 is a great little knife to fondle. Did you know they came out with a black-bladed version? The OD-2 was my first "real" knife and my first Kershaw. It's what got me into this addiction.

But right know, I fondle whatever I have in reach. Those would be a de-assisted Desert Sand Blur Blem, a Cryo, and a FrankenSkyline (orange handles and black-blade).

I actually also lay off them after their broken in, especially BM's so as not to wear out the omega spring. But when it's brand new, I can't keep my hands off them! Plus the Axis Lock is so much better after they break in.

I usually have a little pile by my easy chair, that get dumped in a box for others now and then. :D It seems to be new blades that start this off.
