Knife guessing game ( based on description ) now guessing fixed blades

Nope, good guess though.

Think pattern as opposed to models.

Sorry folks, but no go...

How about a clue or two.
This pattern doesn't get the attention it deserves.
It has a rather shapely bottom.

Ahh, ok.
Thanks

How about this, nothing to crazy from me this time.

This pattern would be at home lending a Hand to a cowboy or a rancher.
For Will Power:
This knife too has an equine affiliation.

How about a Saddlehorn?

That's a Bingo!

I would like to see a head to head, best user type test between a sowbelly and a saddlehorn...

Maybe once I have both I can make that happen...

Doesn't equine mean cows ?
If not I wish I had known that, because it's what caused me not to guess saddle horn trapper.

Sometimes things just slip your mind.

Ha! Wait until you're 64; then you say, "Sometimes things just stay in my mind" because that's the uncommon occurrence!

OK, sorry I had to work late after guessing NJBillK's last one correctly. Here's my new (and kind of lame) puzzle:
This small (2 3/4" closed) serpentine single-bladed (clip) linerlock is now made in China. Whenever I hear/read the model name, the first line of an old song goes through my mind: "Here I come to save the day..."

Wow GT, talk about memory fade... I have a Schrade with liner lock and can only remember "Mighty______ . Oh well hope that helps someone else.:o:)

I've seen the knife in smkw, and I know that's it's an imperial peanut with cracked ice handles but have no clue what the song reference is.

redsparrow, that's pretty amazing that you have the answer but can't fill in that last blank!!:D So the puzzle has changed to a "fill in redsparrow's blank" contest!

Not an Imperial; as revealed above, it's a Schrade, another once-USA-now-Chinese-Taylor-owned brand. Since redsparrow has given us Mighty ____, I can probably say that the song reference is to one of my favorite Saturday morning TV cartoon shows 55 years ago, "Mighty Mouse". ;)

GT, this morning my memory is serving me much better (thank you very much) ... could be due to an extra cup of some really good coffee. ;):)

The knife in question is a Schrade 18OT aka "Mighty Mite".
Since you posted that I have the answer (minus the blank) I'll go ahead and give the next clue, hope you don't mind.

This knife is designated a jack and it has a two word name. The first word in it's name is also a nationality. The second word in it's name is also a body of water.

Good luck.

Sounds good to me, redsparrow; glad you could eventually fill in your own blank! ;)
Do (did) you like your Mighty Mite? I'm quite impressed with mine. I'll insert a photo of it here:

So your riddle just requires us to fill in two blanks? The correct answer will be "blankety blank jack" where the first blank is a nationality and the second blank is a body of water? For example, Mexican Mudpuddle Jack. (I doubt if that's correct, but let's say that's my first guess. :D)

OK, I think it suddenly came to me, redsparrow, but I'm not going to submit my answer because I don't have another "challenge" ready to go. I hope someone else will be the "winner". :p

Yes GT, I do like the peanut size Schrade though I'm not sure it needs a lock.

Your example is exactly right my friend. Shouldn't be to difficult, I mean how many nationalities can there be? :D

And since you made a guess another clue is, I expect a 2016 release of this knife.

How many nationalities can there be? Ummm ... at least one for each nation/country?

Indian Ocean jack
American river jack

By the way I was pretty close to that one as the imperial and old timer versions are the same knife just with 2 different handle materials ( and Shcrade bought imperial a long time ago )
So I'm glad I basically knew what knife you were talking about, even if I didn't exactly guess right.

Hickory n steel, you actually have all the words to give us the correct name of the knife, but the way you have them grouped needs to be changed. The contest is no longer a riddle but a word scramble.

additional clue: The knife is 3 5/8 closed, single spear blade and the 2014 model is CPM-154 blade steel.
