Knife guessing game ( based on description ) now guessing fixed blades

Yes!! Northwoods Indian River Jack. You got it Hickory n Steel.
Equal Enders are a favorite of mine and this one is just right.
Good job Hickory n Steel, you're up.

Obviously not my photo hope KSF doesn't mind.

The people who these knives were meant for have to go to school for a long time in order to do what they do.

Damn It, it never takes you very long to guess my clues does it 😁😁
Well, not it's your turn.
Thanks, HnS; your clues must be very clear and helpful, at least to my twisted brain! :D

OK, the knife I have in mind, I'd call a camper or scout pattern. Its covers are not wood, not bone, not horn, not antler, not acrylic, not celluloid, not "plastic" in general. Symmetric, equal-end frame with no bolsters. The model name is 5 letters: 2 of the letters are the Roman numerals for 600, and the other three letters can be arranged to form a word that sounds like the English name for the number represented by the Roman numeral VIII.

Some old scout models have had aluminum and steel slabs.
This may help some if thesak isn't it.

SAK is a good guess too.

Looking at a single blade, sheepsfoot, carbon steel blade and springs, walnut covers, single bolster. (not a Barlow, tbough) The model number was used on at least three different knives over the years. With the sheepsfoot blade, "SH" follows the model number.

another new clue:
A search for the model number (with the "sh" at the end) brought up three pages of results.
I believe Sir Jack Black (if he is not Knighted, he should be) has at least one.

Oh well. Case 11031SH.

Take it away, GT! Yer up by virtue of you're the only one to comment, and I don't have another to try.

You'll have to take my word for it, but I was actually thinking of the right knife!!
Of course, I had no idea of the model number, or even the name of the model. I tried googling "Case Whaler", but was getting photos that looked like the right knife except for two bolsters. I tried "Case Loom Fixer", but that was coming up with 2-blade models. After the "reveal", I tried googling the pattern number, and some folks called it a rope knife, some called it a whaler. I know Paul Hilborn had one recently, and someone else was quite excited about getting one recently but I can't conjure up a name. Anyway, good puzzle, afishhunter!

Maybe people are giving up on this thread because it's getting too hard to come up with new puzzles. I know I'm about tapped out unless I start going for knives we had before with a different set of clues. If somebody has one, feel free to post it! Maybe I'll try to come up with something to post tonight and folks will drop in on this thread over the weekend.
