Knife Hobby/Interests are going to stop

Butterboy, where you sit determines what you see.
Your area may show you very little knife activity.
Look around Bladeforums instead.
Now what do you see?

It is quite likely that in a long while our universe will be nothing but a singularity.

By then the knife community may have died out.

At least the way I see it is that I've had a fixation with edged tools since I was as young as I can remember. I didn't start actually "collecting" until maybe 8 years ago and don't really see my fascination with them dying anytime soon. I'm sure my bank account wishes otherwise. Also, I think somehow its engraved in all real men's DNA to carry a tool. So I guess I don't see them dying off anytime soon. I also don't see this question as "trolling," you asked a perfectly legit question. Maybe a question of self as opposed to the general public, but a solid question none the less.

Maybe when all the steel on Earth gets used up (I think we already covered this in another thread recently), but then again we can still use obsidian, broken beer bottles and dishes, we can sharpen sticks and palate planks into cutting tools. Not pretty but then can cut, so I would have to say no. Cutting tools have been around since the dawn of time, why would it suddenly go away?

Marci beat me to it, dang it!:D

Hmmm, let's see... there are records of collections of knives dating back to Hellenic Greece... so if knife collecting hasn't died out in the past 2500 years, why would it now?

Hmm. People thought the same thing about fountain pens when the ballpoint pen came along. And yet, they're still being used and--*gasp*--manufactured. I have a bunch of those, too.

Isn't this the same OP that asked what happens when metal runs out?

Either a troll or a kid. If not then he needs to seek help and stay away from sharp objects.

For the record, my interest in knives stopped Last Thursday at 8:10 AM. It kicked back in at 8:11.
