Knife Hobby/Interests are going to stop

Well said, Purpledc, in all your posts in this thread. Couldn't agree more. I do believe the OP was trolling however. If so, he acheived his objective. Numerous folks answered, attempting to shed light, but that just is a testament to their good will!

I am 49 years old, so probably older then the OP. I have been collecting knives since the 1970's and have seen the knife hobby grow bigger and bigger every year and do not see an end to it.

Not even sure why I am replying to this thread.....

I don't know alot of people that collect knives and it is eventually gonna stop am i right or am i right?

What im asking is if the knife community is eventualy gonna die out

I highly doubt that. As long as there is someone somewhere who wants to collect knives, the hobby will survive. Our community here might stop working one day, but that does not mean that there will be no more community for knife junkies.

If anything, the hobby is only likely to get more and more expansive, and larger as a whole. Entire markets don't just die out. They evolve, but never really die.

Oh, and if you think these boys are mean, don't go sticking your head up too much around here, or you'll find the really mean ones ;) :D

Why can't this thread be moved to Whine & Cheese ? It would be So Much more fun if it was in W & C instead of general.:eek::thumbup:

Because W&C already contains butterboy's "What will happen to knives once all metal runs out?" thread.

Adding another butterboy thread would turn W&C into utter nonsense.

Butterboy has never worked in a factory because he cannot be a day older than 13.

Butterboy, please just stop posting and start learning, you have alot to learn.

And in a while you just might have a better understanding on interacting with adult collectors.................

^^^ This. Exactly this. His wording seems to me similar to what a very young person would portray. From the start of this thread and the others that he has had input into or started, I had an inkling that he was very young. Kids, as a lot of us can attest, don't like to be corrected hence him thinking we're all mean.

Butterboy, if you have decided to stick around and are reading this, don't leave, just take a break from the keyboard and use the mouse instead and read read read. There is a lot of really great information here and really great folks too. I read heaps of threads before I started posting and I learnt a great deal. And, as a bonus, have made some great friends. Don't leave mate, just read as much as you can before you post, you will find some great answers to your questions here. Also, save some coin, pick up a knife that you think is cool and I bet you will see how awesome these magnificent tools really are. And for what it's worth, I don't think you are a troll.

Springy..

Considering man has been interested in blades since sharp rocks, before the bronze age, I think we're safe to say that the blade culture is here to stay.

My thought's exactly
Resist the urge to troll. :)

People responding to your posts are not being mean. In order to truly not understand why you get the responses you get, you'd have to be a complete moron. I doubt you are. It's far more likely that you know exactly what you're doing, which is completely obnoxious to most of us. Either way, I don't know why anyone ever dignified this thread with a response. I'm responding now because of the good news. Don't let the door hit you...

Well butterboy,
Eventually knives and everything we know will cease to exist because all human beings and life on earth will eventually be gone. But first we will overpopulate the earth, have a major shortage of food, create drastic climate change and kill off a good number of our own over stupid feuds and resources. So yes, knives will cease to exist, but even if you're lucky enough to live a long life through all the horrors the world has to come, you will be dead far earlier.
