Knife Manufacturers that are not talked about much?

I'll mention Klotzli knives. They are a Swiss knifemaker with a looong history but in recent times they've been involved with several collaborations with Mike Walker. Their craftmanship is top-notch. I own a Swiss Border Guard folder. Outstanding knife.
I am glad you mentioned Klotzli, I have one of their knives and it is great

The used to have quite a lot of ads in magazines I used to read probably almost 20 years ago, I remember thinking their Alley Kat looked really good, but I never came as far as buying one. Now I'm less interested, and XT 70 steel? at 54-55 HRC? For $224? Nah, not interested at all...

David Boye Knives. I first heard about David Boye about 20 years ago, but just got my first, one of his dendritic cobalt folding boat knives (pointed tip version) with marlin spike. His knives are very popular with a certain niche market, but don't get much mention around here.

I agree. David Boye got a lot more mention on Bladeforums way back when. Now that he's scaled back to dendritic cobalt boat knives and the Basic 3, he' kind of forgotten around here. I have two of his fixed blades and one pocket knives and they are some of the best I own. His pocket knife design is so simple and slick, it's almost genius. More than a few makers learned their first skills using his book. My Boye pocket knife is an overall better knife than my sebenzas and william henrys. His knives are simple, yet complex in terms of design maturity and overall blending of materials, construction and price.

Ruana knives out of Bonner mt. Classic cool for over 80 years.

I haven't seen much talk of European knives around here other than Opinel. I recommend you check out some knives from Spain:

Joker Brand made in Albacete, Spain. I have carried one of their knives for two years and subjected it to quite some abuse. It is still going strong. A bit of blade play but I guess that is to be expected. I also have two of their daggers but that is just for collecting. Also, they collaborate with the German brand Puma, making some of their knives for them.

Another good brand is Aitor although their knives may need a bit of a touch up regarding sharpness out of the box. I have 3 Aitor knives. I prefer the quality of Joker knives. However, it is worth mentioning Aitor is the official or main supplier of knives for the Spanish army.

So I was reading through some threads tonight and just got to thinking about some of the companies that I don't see people talking about on here very often, but are making great knives. Of course I will do the shameless plug and mention a few that we carry, but also mention a few we don't. I would love to know some other companies that you do not hear/read much about on the forums but your experiences have been great!

-Southern Grind Knives
-DPX Knives
-White River Knife and Tool
-Heretic Knives
-Spartan Blades (They won* American Made knife of the year at Blade Show 2 of the last 3 years)
-Freeman Knives
-Curtis Knives

It really is a shame about dpx. I have owned quite a few of their knives. And all of them were great. They also have great Customer service.

The hest/f is a great knife that everyone needs to try.

But after Ryp went a little off the deep end, it soured a lot of people.

I'm shocked that there is very little mention (none, really) of Sage Blades (Dylan Farnham) on this forum. Granted, his stuff is art knife-leaning, but his differentially hardened O-1 can walk the walk. Pretty pricey however.

One of my favorite makers, and I'm happy to have a nice example of his work.

I'm very surprised also.

I know i'm new here, but i have been searching for quite awhile for the knife i really want, a real keeper and one i would never want to let go.

Its one of the reasons i joined here, but i also just recently found out this forum existed.

Not only am i searching for the knife of my dreams..i also want to someday soon forge my own blade, but at the moment nothing has really caught my eye until i saw the Dylan Farnham(Sage Blades) website.

His blades are amazing and the art work is simply fantastic.
I can't wait to order one from him.

CultroTech appears to be an unknown Russian maker here. They have an association with a designer named Yanhook who has a reputation in Russia on a par with Shirogorov and Sinkovich.

Of others already mentioned, coincidentally I just ordered a TRC Splinter 120 and I have a wait list spot for a North Arms Skaha II.

A Spartan Harsey Folder and a Cherburkov Scout were on my short list before a Shirogorov F3 popped up for sale that I grabbed a year ago.

I haven’t even scratched the surface for Eastern European makers where a lot of great stuff is being made.
