I think that a defective knife should be taken back by a retailer to an acceptable degree because this is the accepted norm in America. Knife retailers are no exception. But to an acceptable degree and one in good faith because i also understand how hard it is for small businesses. Taking apart a knife and messing with it before returning it is not acceptable
