Knife to carry when on a date

one that's small, attractive, but not too expensive. why? invariably the talk shifts to knives:

"what are your hobbies?"
"knives among others."
"Oh, you have one right now?"
"ummm.. yeah."
"lemme see it?"
[out comes a $70 knife i just bought.]

"oh it's nice, wish i had one like it."

[you then kiss your knife goodbye.]

happened twice already.
 
I guess it depends on where you're going and what you're expecting, but I can't imagine you'll have to cut anything a Dragonfly can't handle. Given your choices, that's what I'd carry.

The first date is what decides who's gonna wear the pants in this here relationship! If it were me I'd dual wield those crappy katanas from the mall or something, show her who the man is around these parts. You could probably tape the blur, paramilitary, and 535 together and get the desired affect also. :D In all seriousness I'd just take something small and out of the way. If it comes down to what knife you're carrying then you've probably already lost lol.
 
If she asks "Is that a knife in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me" don't answer "It's a knife".
 
Be yourself , carry what you carry regularly .... or hand ya man card in
Seriously .. if youre going to cater to what makes you acceptable now , its only setting a pattern for the rest of your life together assuming it works out .

Carry a blinged out knife like a Cold Steel Espada or an Emerson with Steel Flame hardware. The ladies love flashy bling.
 
Have you looked at the buck vantage avid? I think it looks really classy. And its under $50 most places, can even be found for like $35. Also the nirk tighe & nirk tighe 2 look classy also.
 
Bring a Swiss Army Knife. Wear a jacket like MacGyver and have a haircut like his. Use your Swiss Army Knife to make a minor adjustment on your car.....she will say "Oooh,you're so clever - just like MacGyver". :D Works every time.
 
If the girl is freaked out by a pocket knife, how will she feel about guns or the outdoors in general?

Protip: If your date buggers off because you carry a knife, you've dodged a bullet.
 
When my gal and I get away from the kids long enough to have a date night, I tend to have a Buck 055, with white bone scales, in my pocket.
Or maybe a Buck 501, or maybe a slipjoint stockman type .....
But I definately have a Leatherman multitool and a 3-4" folder in the car.

I won't agree.
If the girl is not your acquaintance, not accepting a knife thing on first date is not a matter of accepting (or not) you as a person. It is more of judging her personal safety and so on.


Of course I take knives on dates (spydeco police serrated), but not to check girl out, because I know it could scare her. It never happened but it is possible.
 
Can't help but notice no females commented on this post. Just a bunch of dudes assuming what women like/think. Any ladies out there who could be a bit more insightful?
