Knife wall of shame

@jack black.....Agree, that is a sad photo of abuse. Had to be grinder. What is the overall length of that knife?

Here I've got another one, it's not that trad but still pretty bad. I don't know what this Victorinox kitchen knife was when it walked out the factory but today it ain't nothing but a spike. I picked this up at a flee market.

There was an old linoleum knife hanging around the house that was in pretty atrocious shape, like it didn't even have a hook anymore, just a recurve at the heel of the blade. I couldn't find that one though.

Now that looks like it has meet up with those awesome sharpeners built into can openers a time or two.

Here is a trio of the neglected and abused. Ive been trying to find another of the middle (LF&C) just to see what kind of blades they were. I like the size and shape of the knife overall. Sad they ended up like this.

Found the linoleum knife: here it is. My grandfather was not nice to his knives the electrician knife was his as well.

Flea market find 5 yrs ago. Not a jot of blade play on either blade. Yet this sorry state of the scales.

Sorry for the slow reply Tim, due to the time difference. That Stockman is a HUGE knife - 4 7/8 inches. I only had it briefly as another member took an interest in it, I think he might have wanted it for a door-stop! :D

Here is what it should look like (pic found online):

@ Jack Black...no problem Sir. That's is a beefy knife. Seeing what it should look like only makes it that much more of a travesty!

Thanks Tim :) Yes, a crying shame. It is a very large knife, I have to say, I have no idea why they decided to make it that big.

I think this is the worst I have ever seen, not honest wear, it's like some moron just set out to DESTROY every blade of this knife. I actually saw one of these knives as it was when new today, made back in the day by Stan Shaw when he was working for Wostenholm, and it only emphasised the nature of the crime further

I have that one now. I've put it away where it won't make me weep. Or stick me with its former sheepfoot.
It must have been a grand knife. [I see by Jack's new pic just how grand.]

Sorry, that's its former spay blade that stands a half inch proud of the handle. Still a good mud-anchor though.

I don't blame you Jer, it belongs in a very dark cupboard! :grumpy: I hope Stan Shaw didn't make that one! Certainly feel free to throw it out my friend!

That Cell on the knife is fantastic, wonderful colour patterning, kind of art deco. I think it was probably Spear/Pen. Great former knife, and the Serp with Splinter and busted blade. Well, at least they WERE USED to the very end...:D:thumbup:

Thanks, Will
