Just curious. :) Just to get this thread started, mine would be this H.S.&B. Jack. It takes a lot of force to close/open this one.

Would probably be a tie between my Burke/Queen grandaddy barlow and my single blade Northfield Yellow Rose pioneer.

The one with the strongest snap would be this Challenge:

Of my modern production knives, this GEC 73 is the winner

A GEC 73 I have with burnt stag. Two blades, main spey and small secondary pen, both with long pulls. I have never used it or carried it but man that one has the best snap of any of my knives. Its not a nail breaker and its smooth too.

I don't have a pic, but its one of my favorite knives.

I think it's to clolse to call on these 2. Both have a strong pull. And I would hate to have a finger in the way when they close.

It's a tossup between this NYKC Stabber jack and the little XX 2383 whittler. Both are real bear traps.

Nice knives guys, but I must say that Hammer Brand is extraordinary rick! Looks like it came right off the factory line

Oh my Lordy!!!...Rick!..now I hate to underline Vanguard ( yet again ) but THAT hammer brand Jack is simply one hang of a knife my friend, just look at the profile and swedge of the main blade!!!, and the bone is simply beautiifull....WOW!

For us UK members, that would have to be a Shing creation!
His springs are fantastic, in a land where we can't carry lockers every day, a Shing is as close as a slipjoint gets.
Handled a few, own only this one

Springs like traps, awesome pieces of work!
Just my 2pence worth

Take Care

Hands down - It has a magnetic mind of it's own on open, close, and coming in and out of the half stop.

Vanguard, I'll bet that HSB Ebony Jack is an Ulster from the same era as this one.

And I have to agree, Rick's NYKC is obscene to say the least. That swedge is borderline ridiculous. :adoration:

I think that my Northfield 23 single blade trapper, which is one of my favorites, could probably take my finger off if the blade ever closed on it. You better have some damn strong thumbnails to open it!

i didnt carry it for nearly a year because it actually worried me to open and close, fortunately thorough washings oilings and foolin with it, it has gotten better, but still probably an 8-9 on the pull... "smell that? thats fear, the fear of the moose pocket guillotine"
love the knife but its stout enough that i wouldnt let any non knife nut fool with it

My GEC #23 Smooth Ivory bone. Practically jumps out of my hand :D Being smooth doesn't help much with that either.
