Knife you own that has the strongest snap ?

Without a doubt it'sthis little GEC.
You definatly don't want any of your body parts in the way when this baby heads home.
It's borderline dangerous but I carry it every day anyways.

Hibbard Spencer Bartlett in Ebony. I love the springs on this one. Hard snap into the half stop and open position and back home.

This Ray Kirk folder is probably the stoutest I have at this point. It's a pretty solid 7, I think, although my wife refuses to try to open it.

Definitely the GECs I own. But the Otter knives have also a very strong snap. Like this one

The left one

The Ankermesser also has a pretty strong snap. I hope, ndeezl will like his knife, which is also on its way towards Florida.

Kind regards
Andi

When I'm closing this one (GEC Tidioute Linerlock Ebony Wood) I pay very close attention to where my fingers are. A very strong 8+ on a scale of 1 to 10.

This Don Morrow Trapper. If 10 means you need a knife pick then this one is an 8-8.5. It's a virtual bear trap. Lovely knife though.

I had a Northfield 73 in primitive bone that was nearly impossible to open. Sent it back in exchange for a White Owl I could use.

Strongest I have now would be this Northfield 65 Ben Hogan.

Gevonovich,

Would you mind posting a couple of pictures of this one so I can see the blade more straight on? I haven't seen many knives with single spey blades, and I always like them.

Thanks

Certainly James. This one is definitely one of my favorites. Let me know if these pics work for you.

Hmm would be a toss up between these two,

The bottom barlow with horn handles,

And this Case 6375CV

The horn handle barlow is a cheap Pakistan knife that I use to pry and do otherwise non-knife friendly things (gotta get me a widgy bar soon) and being a Pakistan knife is a nail breaker with an irritable snap, but very authoritative I would give it a 10, the Case on the other hand has a beautiful smooth yet powerful snap when it opens I would give it a nice 6-7, the Paki has a stronger snap, but it's not intentional, the Case's snap is intentional and the winner in my book :)

Yep, definitely needs care closing. The recent #23s and #73s with lanyard holes don't seem to be as strong (at least my examples).

I'm right alongside Gene and Fes with the 2010 Forum Knife. It has that weird 'half pause' mid way through, but snaps open and shut with serious authority. When new, opening it was painful. Working the blades open and shut would actually create a thin burr on the liner along the backspring that could be scraped off with a fingernail. Once that stopped, it improved greatly and became bearable to use.

The strongest snap on any of my knives got cured. It was the small blade on a Rough Rider baby toenail. If 10 means you need a knife pick, that thing was around 17. I literally had to use a small prybar to get it open, and God help anything that got in its way when closing. I like a knife with good snap, but that thing was way over the top.
