Knifecenter.com?

I like to scope out their free gift for every purchase and over 150 dollar purchases before I buy... Tend to wait until theres something I like, like the cold steel sharkie.
 
Their prices are a little higher than some, but their service and communication are top notch. Once I had a package full of christmas present knives (some for me too) get shipped to an incorrect address. They got on the phone to UPS and had my package delivered to me that day. I still use them:)

I placed my first order with them on 09/17/10. Didn't realize from the website that one of the knives I ordered was not in stock. Pay close attention. The 4 dollars I'm saving is not worth the wait. It's 10 days later and my order hasn't shipped. I emailed them earlier today for an update. The reply felt like a pure guess as to when the order will ship. I seriously doubt I'll use them again. Can't really say I like someone selling me something that they don't have in stock.
 
So I did place an order with them, for an item that was out of stock as well. After 10 days they still didn't have it in. Not a huge deal after all their site said it was out of stock. Then I noticed that they had a very similar item on their site which was in stock. I called up, asked them to switch my order. No problem, the item was to be shipped that afternoon. Three or four days later I got an email saying that the item was out of stock. I go back to the site and it is now listed as out of stock. Look around on the site some more. Find another somewhat similar item for about twice as much money. Switch my order to that and it shows up lickety split.

Not a terrible ordeal or anything, but nothing exceptional either.
 
I hope that I end up with the great experience that a lot of other people are reporting. I received what appeared to be an automated e-mail stating the same thing from yesterday (i.e. one of the knives I ordered is in stock and the other is not). I can have them shipped separately. The catch? I have to pay shipping twice. I'm sure that when things go smoothly with these guys, it goes very smoothly judging from the terrific feedback others are giving them. Just thought I'd update you on what things are like for me so far.

I guess the guys ate KnifeCenter are slipping............ I too ordered some CRK stuff (The tool kit and the Leather pouch) that was showing as "in stock"........no response to my first couple of mails asking if they had shipped............then I get a mail that says "We are waiting on the Leather Pouch for the Sebenza to come in. I expect a shipment to arrive sometime in the next few weeks."...............!!!!!!

I can understand a few days(though even that should not happen with a professional outfit........especially if your website shows it as in stock)......but a few weeks is like............way over.

Anyways, I mail them again asking them to ship what they have and refund for what they don't. The response......."There are one or more items on this order currently not in stock. We have placed it on back-order. Your entire order should ship within 5-7 business days, if not sooner. Please note that your credit card will not be charged until we ship your order."...........do they even read the mails from customers properly???

They just lost one, in me.
 
Got my order last night. I'm now the proud owner of two new knives. I seriously doubt I'll be ordering from Knifecenter again though.
 
Great products, decent prices, really fast shipping. Awesome customer service. I ordered two of one item, but they only sent one. I called them, they checked to confirm this, and then sent me the other one right away, i got it the next day.

I can understand your frustration if the knife was listed as in stock when you ordered. However, in my experience with knifecenter, I've always seen the current availability of a particular knife to be noted in at least two places on the product page plus the little triangle icon found below the thumbnails on search and brand pages.
 
I've ordered from them quite often and the only time i had a problem they corrected it quickly. I still order regularly from them.
