Sweet! Man, I so need to get mine done and shipped. Gonna be close getting it out but I should be able to do it.

another coating on my handles drying, and my stencil for etching my name arrived. The logo is perfect, but the text is larger than I thought it'd be, it's perfect for marking my non-blade items, but the text is a bit large for blades, so I may order another stencil with the text half the size before i finish this blade.

Thanks for posting the nice comments and photos. Really glad you enjoyed getting it. But you were not supposed to open it until Christmas, don't ya know. LOL. I know I would never open mine early. Uh huh ya right

Just wanted to introduce you guys to my Christmas present.

This is Grace Noel Shepherd. She was born monday evening. For you stats nuts out there she was 6lbs 4 oz and 19 1/2" long.

She is our second daughter (our first birth since we adopted our oldest). What an adventure the birth was. Mom and baby are both quite healthy and got to come home last night.

Here is my family.

Thanks for indulging this proud Dad. :D

My Christmas knife is all profiled, beveled and heat treated. I'm hoping to sneak off in the garage for a couple of hours this afternoon/evening and clean it up and get it ready for handles. I've decided on a really nice piece of Lacewood for the handles.

God Bless,

Charlie

Charlie...ya done good! Congrats on the birth of your daughter! You have a beautiful family! -Matt-

I hear you Jim,seriously I love the knife,BUT I sure wish it had your makers mark on it-Hope you get yours soon---Have a Very Merry Christmas--Butch

Thanks for the congrats guys. Having two beautiful daughters is a very frightening thing. Guess it's a good reason I like to have lots of knives and guns around. :-)

My oldest daughter, every morning, asks me "what is that" when I'm slicing up something for breakfast. She then proceeds to tell me she wants one too, "a pink one." Guess I've gotta find some pink G-10 in the near future.

Later guys,

Charlie

CSheperd. congratulations. That beats just about anything else anyone could get for Christmas.

Charlie,
Congrats! Nice looking family. You'll have to put some time aside for staying up late at night for a while. Late night and early morning feedings ahead for you and your Mrs.

Congrats Charlie, you just got the best Christmas present of all. I can tell you from experience with girls it is best to have lots of knives around. :)

I should be shipping mine out Monday. I don't have any pictures, and don't think I'd know how to post them if I can get some, but I hope the recipient enjoys it.

This has been a blast to see some of the knives you guys make.

Feel free to email the pictures to me at scott.ickes@timken.com and I'll post them for you!

Name is etched, and final coat of finish is drying! Should go out in the mail Monday morning, since it wont be dry in time to make the mail tomorrow. Will get final pictures taken it's all done. I was scared that I wouldn't like my own knife or something, and that I'd really regret sending it out, but I've spent way way too much time on it, and I think that I'm actually happy with it.

Will have the final coats of finish for the handle done this weekend. Going to try and make my first sheath but if it turns out too ugly then the knife will be arriving naked.
