I have for awhile now wanted to give away one of my elusive edge scribes to one deserving knife maker. which if you have been wanting one you know how hard thy are to get. if you have now fallowed the production of them, head over to the for sale page and under tools you will find it http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660154. I have 10 extra from my last run and i would like to give one away to say thanks and help a maker out. so the basic rules apply, pick a number between 1-100 and post it. but here is a little twist, i would like a short little history of your knife making background put in the same post as the number you picked. So just pick a number and say "I will take #?" and then wright something about yourself. it should be a good way for each of us to get to know each other better. i wish everyone good luck and look forward to reading about you.

JT I'll take #23

i'm just a newbie and havent even completed a knife yet. trying to get a few tools and a place to work.

have a happy new year!

I'll take 54. I've been at this for about 7 months and just finished #38. I plan to stick with it until I'm too old to do it anymore. I'm only 29, so that should be a while.

I'll take 28 because that's how old I'll be in a few weeks =)

I've been 'making knives' for three years, but my shop time is so limited iv'e only made 12 of them in that time. I consider myself a seasoned beginner, with advanced knowledge of heat treating (hey, college was good for something !)

I'll take 77
I have been making knives for about 8 years or so. I learned a lot from the forums and from Grant Fraser from Wilno, Ontario. He makes really nice knives.
Thanks

I will take #76

I am just a newb myself, profiled a few, buried several:eek: now looking at finishing! Looking to get all the help/tools I can get.

Thanks for the chance bro, I have followed your thread for some time. Nice work!!

Happy New year everyone.

I'll take #67. I am a new maker trying to hone my skills. Your scribe sure would be a help!;)

I'll take #19 please. Thanks for the chance JT!

I'm a 36 yo 911 Dispatcher/slow poke hobbyist knifemaker, don't get a lot of shop time. Been learning all I can for 12 years, made about 15 or so knives, only finished 4 so far. Still trying to figure out who the hell Nick Whurler is! :D -Matt-

I've been interested in knives since I can remember. Started out putting handles on blades bought from jantz about 4 or 5 years ago. After I built my house a few years ago I set up a little shop in the basement and since then knivemaking has evolved from stock removal to now forging all my blades. I'm still just a beginner but I think I have a pretty good start. I'd love to have one of your scribes and if I don't win I'd like to buy one here soon. Thanks.

Thanks JT

38 for me.

I have been forging knives since 99 and have made just over 500 of them.

Number 5 please - I'm a beginner, but Ive got 20 knives under my belt since April and I'd like to think I'm getting better.

Dick

Number 45.

I know I own one already, but I assure you, I will find the second a very good home.

My name is Kent Bell. I'm an designer/artist and metalsmith living in the urban beach paradise of Venice, CA. I've been working in jewelry and light metals since 1995 or so. This year, I decided to make the jump to knifemaking. Made a few users and then found the level of work a lot of makers in this forum produce. I'm the sort of guy who believes that if you can't do something right, you shouldn't do it at all. So my current knife project (a series of 3 sculptural pieces that each contain a knife) will likely take several months to complete. In the mean time, I've become addicted to making oddities from Burl Source's fabulous wood.

#63 please. My name is Murph and I'm a newbie just getting started. I've ruined a heck of alot of fine steel over the past few months since I got my KMG, but I honestly believe I'll be finishing up my first completed piece in the coming week or two.

I'll take #72.

I'm new to the hobby and about two weeks from my first grinder. I have high aspirations and weekends off.

Thanks, JT.

I'll take #73 please.
I'm a new maker. I just got my first bar of 1080 and started the profile today. I'm doing all the work by hand and can't wait to finish the frist one
