Case XX Celebration in the Ozarks 2006

Enjoyable. Down Home. Fun. Informative. Great Buys! All of these describe well the Case XX Celebration in the Ozarks held every year the weekend after Labor Day (mark your calendar for Sept. 9th this year). There couldn’t be a better backdrop for one of the biggest annual
Case XX events in the nation than the beautiful Ozarks in the fall.
We love playing host to Case enthusiasts from all over our great nation along with Case Associates from the factory in Bradford, and including Tom Arrowsmith, W.R. Case’s President & CEO.
With an atmosphere much like an old-time county fair, there’s live music, food & drink provided, limited editions of the Case XX made just for the Celebration in the Ozarks, a special knife education class for kids (must be pre-registered), very special deals on Case XX products, exhibitions of the latest & greatest Case XX knives that are coming in the future, hourly drawings, lots of visitin’, and more…..
Special events are held on the evening of September 8 for all members of the Shepherd Hills Collectors Club…..our annual club meeting is held that night….but all in attendance had such a good time with the live music, Angus Burgers, the chocolate fountain, special pickup of pre-ordered knives, and the give away of the prototype club knives, we’ve changed it from the Shepherd Hills Collector’s Club annual meeting to the Shepherd Hills Collector’s Club Party…..(Find out more about how to be join the SHCC by clicking here:
www.casexx.com/shepherd_hills_collector's_club.htm
It’s an event you won’t want to miss….so make plans now to head our way….

Carl has cleared the way for the last weekend of October (27th, 28th, & 29th).

This is a good and fun get-together. I have enjoyed the few times I have been able to go. Felt right at home with good old and new friends.

From Carl:

It's time to start packing your stuff and get ready for some real fun. Trackrock is almost here. Looks like we will have a pretty good crowd this fall. May have to move a few of the forge setups out to the side shed for some elbow room.

All participants wishing to partake in some of Anthony's BBQ need to let me know now so he can make plans.
Unless you let me know it will be first come first serve after those who have RSVP'd have been served. There will be a charge for the BBQ and this will be announced by the cook lte Saturday morning.
All visitors/spectators be aware that there is limited vending on site so bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery.

To all who are coming for the first time: There is no charge for this event but please be respectfull of the campground and participant equipment and supplies. A donation jar will be available for those who would like to contribute to the "Fuel & Supplies Fund". This is a "Family" type atmosphere and it is expected of all to be aware of this. Horseplay or any other activity that might endanger anyone will not be tolerated. Safety is the #1 priority. You are responsible for your own safety gear which includes safety glasses, gloves, aprons, leather shoes/boots.

No one will be allowed to participate without Safety Glasses/goggles, period.

We have a lot of fun at these events, but keep in mind things are either very hot, very sharp or both. This includes the tools used as well.

If you have a project you've been working on or some steel you want to try out bring it along. Please bring samples of your latest work if you can. We do have a "show & tell" table for displaying your work. Besides the visitors like to see the final product as well as the process. If you have questions about procedures, techniques, tools, supplies, etc. bring them also. If you plan to participate and have equipment you can bring please do so. It's better to bring it and have it there even if you don't use it, than it is to have to sit and wait for an opportunity to use someone else's stuff.

Info on the campgrounds [and cabins] - www.trackrock.com
They also provide directions and good mapping.

Carpe ferrum!
-----------------------------------------------------------
If luck holds out, it should be a beautiful weekend as far as weather. If you want Carl's email address drop me a line at Bastid{AT}gmail.com. or if you are interested in the BBQ lunch on Saturday just let me know and I will pass the word.

Just realized I posted my question in the wrong thread. I am new to knifemaking and looking to take a class locally in NJ. If I cannot find one I'll try to go out to the California for a class when my full-time job allows. Anyone know of a class for folders in NJ?

This event will take place the first weekend in May, at Lonesome Pine Forge (Larry Harley's).

PLEASE pre register as I need to keep track of the participants. For more information or to register, contact LarryHarley at 423-878-5368 or by downloading registration form and sending it along with fee.

This event will be geared toward a small informal gathering . Mike Blue and Rick Furr will make steel again this year :)

Don Fogg will also demo that week end, along with Wally Hoffseter, who will be doing a demo on handles and furniture on japanese swords

There will be a sword cutting comptetion . Bring your sword..

I am asking all participants to bring projects you are working on and I'm also asking that you bring something that didn't quite workout or something you are having trouble with or questions about. This should facilitate the leaning experience.
