And I always wanted to say, I always find it interesting to see a knife maker or up and coming knife maker purchase a knife from another maker... I think the message is (besides helping out your kind) that knife makers realize how long a knife takes to make and they can appreciate that time and effort more than none makers... I fiddle with steel and scale material, and I too have realized that to make it look nice takes quite a bit of time.
Time to medicate. OH! This is interesting: I haven't drank any liquor/beer/wine/hooch in almost 2 full weeks! ASMAZXING! lol I've only done this a few times since age 15... I even have a sixer in the fridge and 4 22s... Now I'm on a mission to keep alcohol out of me for a bit longer.. it really kills my immune system... BUT BEER IS DAMN TASTY

Annnnnd, we were in Bend for the past 4.5 days... did some sledding at Bachelor and DAAAAAMN in town it was 12F overnight, got over freezing 2 days barely... They opened up on Saturday for the half pipe and parkies... should be getting some stormy weather again in a week to dump on the hill... got my pass.. CHECK! go spank something! O_O

I usually let my phone die, then give it a full charge. I want to keep what battery life I got in this jobby!
I just started listening to The Silmarillion audio book while doing my routine at the gym. Its so confusing! So many names, and so many people changing their names or having multiple names in different languages!
I'm a Sys Engineer by profession, but I *hate* computers. People are often bossy no matter what their title says and I find it difficult to please everyone. Knifemaking has become a hobby and something for me to work on with my hands. Daniel has been the biggest factor in my personal progress that I could not be where I am without his advice and guidance. I tend to buy work that I like, and I tend to buy custom work by people I respect. I know this place isn't big on him, but I really enjoy Mick Strider. I have a custom SnG in VC20 of his that I adore and eventually someone close will inherit. Getting Daniels work in was only natural for me
Get better soon, FBC. I think I'm finally over my own small cold, which is great because I hate feeling down! Chug that OJ and take your vitamins! Get plenty of rest. Relaxing to the Hobbit should do you some good!

My fish died. 
he started showing a little improvement, had been treating him with myracin two, but it ended up not being enough. Sad, such beautiful creatures!
This is one I am currently looking at buying, he's about 3.5 months old now, I wonder jut how dark he will get around the head as he matures. Coloration looks good, I'll have to see what the genetic cross is for him before I buy though.

Bobby, I hear ya on the The Silmarillion It is like he is trying to confuse the heck out of you. I read it a long time ago and still remember the high WTF factor and back tracking to try to figure it out.

weird... I was thinking that someone needs to make hardened butter knives.... seriously.. weird... ... and yeah.. so.. I have a nice variety of butter knives in my drawer... each is different actually.. all from good will move along.
edit: sick is going around... been in the sick for a week, saw the doctor early this morning.. nothing major yet... so just on supplements and robitussin DM... the stuff is nasty. oh and an overdose of ZINC... lol sigh. I was affraid I had bronchitis again, but nope---phew.

Been a good day. Overslept cuddlin' the wife , but salary so being late is of litle consequence. All caught up on work for once, got some holiday tunes and refreshing my tracking number for my DFK package has never been quicker!!!
I an feelin grindy. I think tonight i skip to gym; hit the workshop.

Lay 'em on me brother.I found if I even show the knife to a buffer the hamon vanishes. Then I etch it again and it brings back the hamon/temper line but it also brings the scratches that I just got rid of. It is maddening I tell ya!
