That sounds awesome! I gotta get some new stuff profiled out. I have some blanks post HT but waiting on carbide bit. Get some pics up for us :D
 
Ok, here's a pic. No glue, no synthetic finishes. Just natural bees wax finish and pinned through the shank and ferrule.

Works pretty good so far! I will make it with replaceable brass tips for when I go searching for gold/silver jewelry and old coins. That way you don't gouge a perfect 1909 VDB penny and loose a thousand dollars in value!

Try to get out a couple days a week. Still lots of parks I want to go to, but I don't dare go alone. Hell, last week an entire soccer team was held up at gun point and robbed! The probe is just a quick version, I reall just took 20 minutes and slapped it together.

The copper collar/ferrule, that's done with a technique that Tai Goo used and I finally have gotten the hang of it! The coppr acually goes all the way up to the shank and started life as just a piece of straight pipe. I need a few more mandrels for doing this, but it sure is fun!

If some of you guys on here aren't familiar with Tai's work, deffinetely check him out! He is a true artist, he has a MFA and applied it to knife making, simply cool stuff! I wish I could get a piece from him.

Anyways, I'm headed into the shop, gotta clean up a knife I'm actually selling! Not one of mine, but one from another maker who is no longer making knives. I just can stand to carry it due to how he ended his business, leaving so many people hanging after taking deposits and such....

Ash and I were just at the Christmas Barn getting our yearly stock of orniments. Saw some creative fool set this up. Had to take a pic.

Been a quiet day. Trying to flush out the vast majority of my Christmas shopping today so it's out of mind!
 
Good evening DFKer's I went to Big Trees National Park yesterday with Jen's family and checked out the ...big trees. It was pretty nice. Stopped by some apple stand that has been around since 1890. I must say that they make pretty awesome apple cider . I guess they better with all that time to perfect it.
