Here's the story.... I sent Ryan, at customkniveworks or knifeworks805, 2 knives to have duracoated (A SOG autoclip and a Buck Oddyessy). His communiocation was phenominal until the day I actually sent the knives. The day that he recieved the knives, communication stopped. This is so disapointing because he seemed like a nice guy. After promising me a week turnaround, he kept my knives for over a month and a half . Now, he has made a video showing one of my completed knives (The Buck) and posted it to youtube. He said he shipped both of my knives to Albert over at Seattle Edge over 2 weeks ago now, and Al hasn't seen them.

Frankly, I'm worried about my knives and the 100+ dollars I have tied up in them.

Has anyone else had this expierence with Ryan, any suggestions?

Also, he still never answers my calls, texts, emails, facebook comments, youtube comments, etc.... and his phone says his message inbox is full.

All I have asked for is updates on my knives. Seems like very poor business ethics to me.

Please let me know what you guys think.

Are you familiar with the other threads opened on Ryan? He has had numerous complaints before, and I had a bad taste in my mouth after working with him too.

both of these threads have similar complaints in them.

Its truly sad :barf:

Moderators should Ban him but it wont do much good, his facebook is mainly where he does his business through.

I would have left bad feedback if I could but since I dealt with him through youtube, the mods wouldn't let me.

Do what you can to get your money & knives back now. Hopefully others will learn from your experience.

Next time, you need to search the feedback section "Good bad & Ugly" before you send money or knives to someone.

You should also ask the Mods to move your post to GB&U as this is not the right forum location for this.

I'm sorry that I put it in the incorrect catagory. It's my first thread. I doubt I get the money back because he supposedly already duracoated them :(

I remembered while that thread was still active he listed two knives up for sale on the exchange and they were snatched up right away. I have no idea what the appeal is, the guy's work looks tacky as heck. I'm pretty sure he stopped buying knives since now he can just carry/use all of his customer's knives.

What this guy does is borderline criminal IMO.

I was just about to say this belongs in the GBU instead of general, but Hopefully more people will see this post in the general before it switches over.

Knowledge is power, and the search function is key when dealing with people online.

It switched over in under 2 minutes lol. How did you get in touch with Ryan when you had problems?

Yes several people in several Threads warning about Knifeworks805.

Any Suggestions- Avoid him like the plague.

On the Brighter Side: When he needs to sell more modified knives he'll probably contact you and throw you a few promising crumbs- Until the knives sell then he'll disappear again.

During the other problem threads on Knifeworks805 he’d contact the people he’s screwing over when he wanted to sell knives. He did it several times in a row- no communication until he wants to sell / brief communication so it is Ok for him to sell / then he will disappear again after they sell.

I didn't, he didn't reply to any of my messages at all until He sent them back, and he screwed up my order, and didn't even duracoat the way I had wanted.

I think in all about 18 messages were sent and only the first message was replied to and that was to tell me he had received my knives, and that was only after I asked if he had gotten them.

In the end if you payed via paypal, file a complaint and get your money back, They generally side with the buyer. Unfortunately the knives will not be replaced though, and your at Ryan's digression on when (if ever) you'll receive them back.

The problem is, I didn't use paypal. I didn't have a paypal account at the time :/

you hit the nail on the head, I think we should do a vote and see if we can get him banned, He is just not a guy who should be on these forums screwing people out of there money.

Vote: 1

Oh man, that's really unfortunate.

The only other word Of advice I have then is Pray for a safe return of your property.

Unfortunately Ryan Has that effect on people.:thumbdn:
