KNIPEX - Cobra XS Water Pump Pliers

Mail call! :D

The pocket slip Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley made for me came in a day early today. :D

It's absolutely gorgeous. The leather is nice and supple and the fitment is as perfect as can be. Stitching is great, the embossing is great, the design itself is spectacular! I know there is a thread already, so I'm sorry to plug... But if you are looking for a sheath for you Cobra XS pliers, you really need to order one of these. Seriously.

Now I want you to see what you guys are responsible for. I put the blame for these purchases squarely on the shoulders of every person participating in this thread. I've purchased every one of these (along with a few others too big for the lightbox, lol) since discovering this cursed thread! :P

Except a nail.

Lol, the other day someone posted a pic here on the forums of the smallest hammer I've ever seen. Wish I could find that pic. The perfect hammer for edc, lol!

In my younger days I did some roofing, and then framing and drywall so I actually have a couple of really nice Stiletto hammers... But I am in the market for a 4oz and maybe a 12oz ball peen.

I ordered these along with the Cobras. I think the big river site may have had a price mistake because there is NO WAY these should have only cost $27.

What are these called? I can’t make out the brand name.

Did someone say Knipex? 20210423_001549_copy_1755x1973.jpg
I ordered the two smaller pairs shortly after you started this thread Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley

I had the slip from the 2020 BFT. It's been carried daily at work since I got it. My coworkers get a kick out the minis when I bust em out.

When I got into the trade (plumbing) I always used channel lock brand, until I found these. Now there's no going back, even when I had my van stripped of all my tools, I still replaced (most) of what I had in Knipex tools.

Unsung hero award!

Torx plus bits!!!

A couple of my knives have Torx screws that were giving me some trouble. After seeing a post elsewhere talking about using Torx Plus bits instead of Torx, I gave it a try with VERY good results. For whatever reason, Torx Plus bits tend to fit in knife fasteners MUCH better than their Torx counterparts, with much less risk of damage. I'm not sure if it's a tolerance thing, or if knife companies have started to switch to Torx Plus screws.

For instance, on the Buck 104 Compadre, an Torx Plus 9IP fits a LOT better than a Torx T10. If you have a set of Torx Plus bits or drivers, give it a try and let me know if your experience is the same!

(The Torx Plus comes in the black case instead of green)
