In my experience, they will lighten up slowly as they dry out. Keep reapplying that salve and they will get better and better with time and wear. Hard to beat a good pair of boots.

Certain oils/creams/conditioners darken, others dont. Just depends on what you want. Bick 4 is an extremely common one that doesnt darken at all, and i tend to use that most of the time.
