In the cowboy world wedge soled pull ons are referred to as "lettuce pickers." Extremely popular for working on the ground, even riding sometimes. Here we're working on the fence;

Yes sir they are but for me lousy for walking on side hills. Your feet tend to roll inside the boot. But flat ground, the shop, working in a set of corrals, perfect.id bet comfortable all day for working wear too......
