A cup from the famous "Five & Dime" in Santa Fe. Coffee from New Orleans' Famous French Market Coffee & Chicory Dark Roast. A knife from Kershaw, a December 2003 Leek 1600CKTST made in the USA. Great way to start the morning off.

Jeff Pearce. Copper San Mai 1095 w copper liners and shield. It has strong walk and talk..a 7. The micarta is a dark burgundy. Glad you like it.

Hard to beat copper materials. I like most anything that looks better with age. Really dig those inlays too! Thanks for the reply

Not a CRK but I have a couple Southern Grind knives that are tanto. They are great at work for zip ties.

I don't love Via. I'm okay with the idea of suspending a very fine grind. Part of the problem is that there are always some slightly larger grinds that just float around in my cup. The other thing is the flavor. There is an annoying bitterness here that I also get from their Pike Place.

Yeah, I used two packets for a ~10oz cup but I usually go double-strength.

Given the price of Via, premium European instants are just a better deal. That's even true for pricier brands like Davidoff. The use case for Via seems to be single cups on the run when you have limited facilities but still have hot water available. Honestly, those are all cases where it would be just as easy to put a little premium instant in a small reusable container.

There is an annoying bitterness here that I also get from their Pike Place.

Glad I am not alone with Pike Place and bitterness. If I brew the Pike myself it is good. If I buy from a counter it is undrinkable. Not sure what they are doing wrong other than ruining good coffee
