Knives And Dogs!

Not pointing fingers at you, or criticizing. Just stating facts. 99% of dogs that come at bicycles and joggers like that, are just posturing. The movement triggers their drive to pursue. People freak out and then it freaks the dogs and owners out. If more people realized that, there would be a lot less incidents.

I LOVE dogs .....better than people. But I've almost shot a few in recent years.
Not funny, but the last two occasions have been at my in-laws. On their street.

Two Christmas's ago I need to get out/away and get some fresh air, taking My dog for a little walk. (On a leash)

Where my in-laws live is nicer. People are, I'll say entitled...... I'm walking down the road. It's a dead end road. All of a sudden 2 dogs come Barreling out the yard, violently barking, hair raised, racing to me and my dog..... Not good!

I'm gifted with something inside me. A bottled up strength of some sort. Rage, maybe.
My Father was an Asshole. And his Father before him..... Nobody could Scream like my old man.....
Except maybe Me.

This was a quiet winter afternoon, quiet, peaceful area. Tranquil.

I got between my dog and these two running to me. I Screamed So Loud at these two dogs to "STOP" they basically shit themselves. Stopped in their tracks.

The owner comes out. I Scream at him, and his unleashed dogs. I told him "Thanks for having me almost Shoot your dogs on Christmas, Asshole".
-he got them inside right away.

Then this Thanksgiving a different neighbor There, I pulled my .40 out as a "rescued" Rottweiler wouldn't let me out of my vehicle....I was out, but my wife and I had to make a beeline back inside the truck where it was safe. I told her/my wife "I'm going to have to shoot it". I beeped my horn a bunch, then the old bitch called her dog in.

I'm sick of these types of people.
Judge me if you want.... I'll do what I Have to to keep my family safe. I don't care about your feelings. If they love their pets, they would be more responsible with them!

I almost did t post what I did because I knew it would be misconstrued. I’m not saying that there are no aggressive dogs. I’m not saying it’s ok for people to let their dogs intimidate other people or dogs. As a matter of fact, I’m having an issue right now with some idiot who does have an aggressive dog that’s attacked my dog twice beczuse this idiot refuses to walk him on a leash and instead lets him run around unchecked out in an area where I walk mine almost every day.
All I’m saying is that the majority of dogs you encounter on any given day that bark at you aren’t going to be aggressive. They are just reacting.

Take that for what it’s worth. I’m no expert but I was a professional certified K9 handler for the majority of my twenty three year LEO career. I’ve dealt with a lot of dogs in my day. Most were cowards that posture but run away when met head on. As in your example.

The problem is that on occasion you’ll meet up with one that means business and the average person doesn’t have the skill set to know which is which.

I'll add...
It's a really F'in scary situation have dogs coming At you. The owners might know that their dogs wouldn't hurt Anybody.....but since they are strange and new to me. It's different.

About 15-20 years ago. My neighbor across the street from me. She's big into fitness. Works out, and jogs a lot. She got attacked and dragged down the street (not mine, but same city) by a savage German Shepherd. What percentage does that fall into? Talk about tramatizing.

Yes, I understand what you are saying...and you are correct about most......

I consider my self a novice "expert"
My dog is a rescue lab mix... which means pittie.

They are the sweetest dogs ever.
I spent Years at the dog park.

It's Always the owners fault, not the dog.
But again, Stay Safe.

Lo and behold almost as if the simulation were listening: I literally just came back from my daily walk with my dog and look who I ran into. This is is the guy and the dog I mentioned in my previous post. Still clueless, still letting his dog run around unchecked. I’ve altered my route since the incidents with this guy in order to avoid them. They were on the other side of the arroyo far enough away that his dog didn’t see us or guaranteed there would’ve been another problem. Funniest of all, his dog isn’t a Rottweiler or a pit bull, it’s a big white lab male. These pics are zoomed in so they look much closer than they actually were.
