Titanium. From @whitty at USAMadeknives.com They do titanium anodizing on select knives.

Long day in the shop. This part of the 92 blades I'm working on is ready for heat treat. The thinner stocked stuff, mostly kitchen knives and leather knives here, are ground after heat treat:

The rest will be ground prior to heat treat:

On first sampling, I wasn't a fan. I'll give it a few more tries before I either pass it along or relegate it to mixed drinks. (It was a bit more approachable after a small piece of ice & some time to come back to room temperature; but I still didn't enjoy it)
The knife is black palm over 01, by one of our makers.
