I've been slacking on posting - have taken a few pictures, though. I'll get them posted sometime tomorrow.
This morning I opened a bottle of Clyde May's. My previous experience with Clyde May's Alabama style Whiskey wasn't thrilling. It was the 110 proof Special Reserve, and I found the strength of the apple (both scent and taste) to be somewhat offputting. Today, however, was a limited release cask strength - aged 8 yrs, and bottled at 117 proof. The difference was significant, and I very much enjoyed this one.

Catching up on pictures....
One of my local liquor stores selects & buys barrels of a variety of whiskeys.
This is one (you can just see the shop sticker on the side). New Holland Beer Barrel Bourbon, with a Malanika puukko (walnut on 80CrV2)
The first few sips after I open a bottle of this are always weird for me - I don't care for beer

I did finish the bottle of Bulleit Cask Strength that I posted a bit ago...but the girl tossed the bottle before I could get another picture. Not sure if it was the effect of it getting some air, or (more likely) just me not being so damn tired; but I found the bottle more enjoyable after the first two days. I don't know that I'll buy it again, though - there are so many better bourbons at that price (and lower!!)

Here's the Clyde May's I mentioned the last time I posted. I took the picture that day; but was too lazy to load & post it. Also shown - Dozier Arkansas Toothpick & SteelCraft Bodega. (I haven't finished this one - I probably won't be able to get another; so I'm going to make it last)

And last night's pour - Maker's 46 Private Selection (I'll get the bottle in next time). With the same Bodega wonder how that happened??
Please forgive the fingerprints & spots on the glass

Four Roses Small Batch, and ZT0200kw (with smoothed scales)

BTW - where the heck is everybody? This thread was on page 10, and the last post was almost 2 weeks ago (I thought about posting a knife with tea the other day; but was too lazy to get the camera)
