That’s not weird at all! I like to dip things in my tea, especially while waiting for it to cool to that perfect temperature. This time of year, gingersnaps are a favorite.

What is weird, though, is I once saw a baguette in a cage at the zoo. When I asked the zookeeper about it, he told me it was bread in captivity. ;)

Happy Friday, day after Christmas, evening!

A cup of tea by the fire, with a Buck 112, my wife’s homemade shortbread, and a new book.

Before there was Buc-ees, there was South of the Border. The original Tourist Trap. I’ve travelled I-95 up and down the East Coast from 4th grade till now. The South of the Border billboards have entertained me for over 40 years, and someone has put a book together chronicling their history. I’m going to enjoy this…

Happy New Mug New Year!

The residue on the Buck 538 Open Season Small Game knife is fatwood sap/resin. I baton fatwood to make the box last 2-3 times longer. I also make feather sticks of them to light faster. I dedicated this knife to the task so I don’t have to take time to clean off my EDC knife every morning when I tend the stove since I’m often on my way out the door. This blade can get as gunked up as it wants!

I used to use the Numi brand of loose gunpowder green tea, but their price skyrocketed a couple years ago, so I switched to an other brand.
I haven’t tried a gunpowder tea. That might have to be next.

Oh happy day! The local BBQ place by work had a fire 16 months ago when the smoker got out of control. They’ve been going round and round with insurance and county inspections, but they finally re-opened today. Pulled pork, mac and cheese, fried okra, iced tea, and a Buck 112 in oak and 5160!
