Photos Knives and tea, pix thread

We got a care package from a family member that included some home-grown honey, so I've been using that lately for my tea. Shown here in my iced tea. I brew a cup of Scottish Breakfast Tea, sweeten it with the honey, and then quench it with ice (I think the wifey picks up the bagged ice from Chic-fil-a or something)

That is indeed the best ice, hands down.

I usually use whatever honey is cheapest at the grocery store, but just today a guy at work brought in a QUART jar of Sourwood honey for me from his family farm! He said based on the color it's technically a hybrid of Sourwood and whatever else was blooming in the area. I'm looking forward to trying it. I usually just have one cup each morning when I get to the office, but I just may need a second today after lunch. :)
That sounds delicious. Yeah, I'm lucky that I have a family member that sends me good honey from time to time. Buying honey (along with everything else) at the store is becoming downright painful. It wouldn't bother me so much if it felt like pricing was going up so that farmers/producers were finally getting their fair due, but that's certainly not the case.

Thanks! It's hard to believe that when I got into this hobby I only liked black knives, then for the longest time it was only earth tones. Over time I've gravitated more and more towards the bold/bright colors (which I've always liked in my surroundings), and now it's become a bit of a signature look for me. I definitely don't misplace my knives when I set them down in the woods as much (I once almost lost one and found it stuck in the log where I was taking a picture of it 🤣). As for the pics, I don't really have much knowledge, just a decent eye for what looks good, and then I play around and take a bunch of pics until I get one I like.

Freaky Friday and the Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT) Van Hoy Snap Lock from it’s original release in 2004. It was re-released in 2017 after being gone for over a decade. The new version has a different grind and less holes in the blade. I’m assuming the new version comes with two pocket clips like my original did. Mine here is wearing the lefty clip. Pretty easy to open and close one handed after you spend a few minutes to get to know it.

Tea before heading out to cut firewood Saturday morning. My over-6’ 16 year old son and I didn’t fell this one - we’re just scavenging from a friend’s place. That’s a 25” bar for scale - a nice big 75 year old oak killed by a lightning strike close to two years ago, and felled last month.

Loading the last round on the trailer did the tire in. They were old and needed replaced anyway - and that suddenly jumped to the top of the priority list. LOL!
