Knives and wives

They can coexist quite nicely.
When we first met my wife carried a Chinese knock off sak on her keys, but she had pretty blue eyes and I asked her out anyway.
Eventually I gave her a genuine Vic classic that she proudly carried.
Now she has a couple more Vics and a Case mini trapper.
She also helps me put together and run a knife show every year and we have a blast.
She even gifted that first classic to someone with the exclamation that everyone needs one of these

My wife is fine with my hobby. Some guys have much more expensive interests than the sharp and pointy. So I drop a couple hundred bucks on something I dont need every once in awhile, it's cheaper than a camera or a boat or a sports car.

My wife knows my hobby brings me joy. It's not an adversarial relationship, and I dont empty the family coffers indulging.

Also, I dont ask what her shoes cost:)

My wife is AWESOME! She is perfectly fine with my knives. As I type she is looking at purses and shoes online. We are both happy! Guess I am blessed.

My wife doesn't understand, but she let's me have my hobbies. She has hers (sewing is one), and I have mine. She's always been supportive of my interests and I am with hers. Understanding each other's interests is not necessary.

I got a keeper, no complaints here!

My wife is perfectly fine with my collection*, and even has several knives of her own that I've scored for her. She sends me to BLADE each year with a wad of cash and a kick in the ass, telling me to "Get all the good things!" So, yeah, I'd say they can coexist just fine.

*And amazing in all things, really

that should be "knifes and wifes" or "knives and wives".

mine don't get it, but she doesn't really care either. I dont buy a ton of knives either
I dont let knives or any other hobby put me in financial troubles

Mine helps me make knives. She does most of the bandsaw cutting out of the blades:

She just wants to know how much she can sell them for when I die.

Yikes, I thought I was the only one! I have two drawers in our walk-in closet. Perhaps +two dozen knives, mostly automatics. My wife doesn't understand on why 90% of the collection is "pristine." Ergo, she doesn't even get why I refer to the knife in my jeans as "my usin' knife."
