Knives and wives

that should be "knifes and wifes" or "knives and wives".

mine don't get it, but she doesn't really care either. I dont buy a ton of knives either
I dont let knives or any other hobby put me in financial troubles

My boy Sean Bean would like to have a word. LOL

Wish there was something more then a like Dave, I believe you have a keeper, but you already know that.:)

Thanks!

Agree. But maybe next time Dave can skip the castration picture :)

Somebody has to turn those bullcalves into steers! Wait! We can get young Miss Emma to do it:

Nichole, my wife, and Emma are both easier on the camera lens say than me or crusty ol Salty:

She started carrying a Spyderco Dragonfly Tattoo with her Sig 938 about 3 years ago.

Since then she has worn the tattoo completely off. She also tried a Kershaw assisted flipper but because most women’s jean pockets suck and the weight of the Kershaw she is sticking with the Dragonfly.

I’m spending slightly less on knives than I would typically spend on firearms so everyone is happy on that front too.

I've been married going on 48 years. My wife doesn't care anymore if I buy new guns or knives. She just wants to know how much she can sell them for when I die.
Funny. My wife really pays no attention to my knife acquisitions. She thinks every knife I buy costs $500 which is far from the truth. When I die, I doubt my wife would make the effort to sell any of my stuff unless she could walk into a pawn shop and walk out with cash in her hand.

Mine helps me make knives. She does most of the bandsaw cutting out of the blades:

She also helps me put on the bolsters:

She also helps on the leather side of things:

She does all our flower carving and a lot of the consturction on various products:

Great pics.

My wife carries a delica and an alox soldier I gave her. She gets frustrated with how much time I spend on Bladeforums though. She usually tells me all the knives I buy look the same, but occasionally I’ll buy a GEC that she agrees is really nice.

She does have an eye for sebenzas though, and kept telling me to buy less knives last year and just buy a sebenza already.

:) After 45yrs , I think she's just glad I'm up not up to something worse !

Her favorite relevant movie quote is from "Darkman" : " I'm learning to live with a LOT of things ! " :p

Well Horsewright Horsewright you let your secret slip now we all know who the real talent is :p

Not married, at least not on paper or by a church, and I get the remark about spending money usually because I deny many of her request to spend money. Beyond that she doesn't really have a problem with it but definitely doesn't get it.

She understands. She has a collection of purses, and also gems and geodes. Although I don't think she sees collecting the purses the same way I do. It seems to me she just wants new and stylish. But who am I to judge. I don'y say anything and I usually end up getting at least one knife for Christmas. This year it was 6. I look at it as the same mental issues. I bought her a new gun this year. Another reason for extra knives. We trade off on who gets the next gun and it has been a while. Happy wife, happy life, new knife.

Mine"s great. She hates my hobby yet in 6 years she's bought me a Spyderco roll bag, Native, mnandi, Wilco Combat 21 large and a small.

I also tease her all the time she yells at me to take my knife and cut something for her at inopportune moments so o always reply that I don't use my knives...I only carry them in my pocket, sharpen them on occasion and take photos of them to post on bladeforums...lol

My lovely wife understands my obsession, and says its better than other addictions.
She has few folders and fixed blades of her own, but cherishes her kitchen knives.

We work well together. Best friends and all. :)

My wife and I were recently discussing what to do with my knives when I am gone. She said that she would keep one knife and donate the rest to a local scout troop.

There are going to be some young kids with nice knives when that time comes.

My ex didn't care I had knives everywhere for every purpose. She is a sewing savant and is into her scissors. We both appreciated sharp things that cut.

My wife took over my new ocean blue Sodbuster Jr. Guess I get to carry the orange delrin,,,which is not a bad EDC. She's glad I finally have a hobby. Now gift giving is much easier. She's a great knife buyer too.

She rolls her eyes but she tolerates it. I have my hobbies and she has hers. I have bought her things like a SAK classic but she often does not even have that in her purse. When she wants something cut she usually just asks me for a knife.

I don't smoke, drink, or chase skirts. I guess it is a pretty harmless hobby and she sees it that way.

I’ll just copy and paste from my last reply to a “does your wife like knives thread”...

My ol lady has been on board for a long time. Her first EDC was a Kershaw Boa with the multicolored scales. She lost that one, tried to talk me out of my Sere 2K (fat chance), then I had her look for a few she would like. Now she rotates these:

I have my wife and daughter carrying a small sak on the keychain or in the purse. I did however find my wife opening a box of pillows she bought online, with my ZT 0350 and I don't think it's the first time. I find suspicious tape residue on some of my knives.
