great thread...
I have had many hobbies over the years , was into racing pretty heavy , SCCA Auto-X ( 914 , Rx-3 , Rx-7 ) , KART racing ( KT 100 ) and off roading. Racing will always be a passion.
Lately my hobbies have been mainly just shooting , I don't do as many local competitions as I used to , used to shoot IPSC , bowling pin matches , plate matches and Vintage Military Bolt Action Rifle matches ( VMBAR ).
Lately shooting is just recreation , sharing it with my sons is the best ( ages 5 , 8 , 15 ). We hit the range at least once a month , if not twice or more. Being able to go shooting with my sons and my dad , makes it that much better.
I do still compete ( as well as run the timer ) for our local monthly subgun matches , along with my father. This pict is from the UZI Nat's held here in Vegas a couple years ago ( I lucked out and got first ).
Other hobby is archery , I shoot a Hoyt Avenger Compound , my oldest son shoots a Hoyt Game Master II recurve , middle son shoots a small Bear ( youngest one is still building arm strength ). Another hobby I can share with my sons.
Yeah , my form sucks , that left arm just will not go straight ( street bike injuries ).
My other hobby is my digital SLR , photoshop and web surfing.
I seldom watch TV , unless it is UFC , Speedvision or Military channel.
Having 3 sons , heck just getting them to and from school , after school activities , church , youth group and band practices is a full time hobby.
Though for me , knifemaking is my # 1 hobby right now ( ok maybe #2 behind sharing other hobbies with the kids ). My boys are also knife geeks in training.
There is a new hobby looming on the horizon , that should start around spring... I am going to be building a Rat Rod , unsure exactly what , 20's-30's , chopped , channeled & sectioned , no flash , just a daily driver rat rod. Why ? Always wanted one , and it has been many years since I did a project car.
