Knives aside, what are your other hobbies??

Nothing is better than enjoying your hobby with someone you love!

Amen to that!

My latest diversion is my hot lil' Subaru WRX/STI sports car. It's a sleeper with almost 400hp at the wheels. So far, my best drag run is 12.53" @ 112mph. Elevens by Springtime.

I love to go to this place for my road course fix. Grand Prix New York in Mt Kisko, NY. A substitute for the STI's capabilities.

Of course I use my cameras for other things. My particular fond niche is car shows and antique hood ornaments. I have hundreds of good shots:

Lastly, I workout four to five times a week and coach and train rowing. Here's a good shot of me and my best friend, Malcolm doing a little morning training:

Here's my view in the afternoons from the launch, as I coach High School boys. It's a job, but it's so much enjoyment, I have to include it.

This is my actual full-time job, working around fixing these boats and stuff. I wear a lot of hats.

Dayummmm! Sweet pistol, UGLY idiot mark... they even got the trigger!

Pretty much all of my hobbies have been shelved by work, family, and falling apart physically. I USED to:
play rugby
mountain bike
hike
camp
fish
photography

Still the rare occasion to hunt, fish and hike time permitting. I also married into a Model-T family. We have a 1917 touring that I really enjoy driving. I still get out to the firing range every now and then and exercise the 1911's.

Well. I have only one custom knife and am not a regular here but I do drool over my copies of Dr. Darom's first 4 books! Not on them, just over them.

I collect small mineral specimens when funds and desirability coincide.

Also grow unusual succulents, mostly South African, like this washed out photo of an unknown Japanese cultivar of Haworthia Truncata var. Maughanii.

Oh, and I collect plant and knife books that are above my pay grade. :D

My money pit. I wont say its street LEGAL but its got Insurance , registration and it does have a good inspection sticker. So any of you lawman types, please look the other way if you see me.;)

Mild 302 or so;) , no laughing gas. 10:90's all motor and plenty fun!

High end audio
Big game fishing (fish with pointy noses, various and sundry tuna, etc)
I was trying to learn the guitar, but I have some kind of nerve problem in my left hand. I'm not sure if the guitar did that or forging, but I am right handed, so it is probably unrelated to my knifemaking.
I used to shoot a lot. Not so much any more.
The next thing that I want to take up IF I can find a place to learn it properly is traditional European fencing, as opposed to modern sport fencing.

Why that model, and does it have IRS? Yes it is a sleeper body, but I'm having a hard time figuring this one out.

There are ARMA units all over Florida....find one staffed by a Senior Free Scholar who has studied directly under John Clements, and you will get some fine education. I'm sure that there are other organizations that train well, but I have seen John do his thing a few times, and he is very serious, and has studied both the Italian and German methods with the mind of a dedicated martial artist.

Best Regards,

You got one out of place. It is GBDGBD
These are for Robert. They are original. Some prototypes. They are all for sale for 300K

Oh man, i want to go back in time and slap whoever did that!

You and me both!

The story behind this one is interesting. My father bought it off some guy back in the 70's, along with a Colt .22 conversion unit of unknown vintage. Princely sum for the entire package: $50. My father never fired the gun. Sometime in the 80's my he started disposing of his collection ( :grumpy: ) and sold the .22 CU separately, probably for twice the price he paid for the entire package. Whoever was swapping the slides back and forth undoubtedly committed the idiocy.

The Ithaca stayed under his mattress stocked with JHPs, unfired, unoiled, and uncleaned. Earlier this year I got back into shooting after a hiatus and suddenly remembered this gun. I asked him about it and found it was still serving mattress duty. I bought him a new H&K USP40 to serve as a home defense tool and he later gave me the Ithaca. I think I came out a bit ahead. ;)

Many months later, I don't think he has shot the H&K yet!!!

Add me to the list under

hiking
camping
shooting
fishing
and
astronomy

You made a hell of a deal! If you like 1911's, im actually specing out and trying to secure different people in the business to make myself a 1911 frame/slide out of damascus that I'll forge up, then build myself. I have a thread on it over in shoptalk. Itll be a long time coming, though, so dont hold your breath while I save up my cash.

Neat thread (I'll find pictures I promise)

I umpired baseball, 14yo up to D3/JUCO and Pro Indie League until 2 kinda serious surgeries sidelined me last year. I'll go back when I totally rehab. I love to read, sci-fi mainly, learning to be a chef from my brother.

I hunt (duh) and occasionally fill in at local bars as a bouncer.

Speaking of Dobros there's a guy here locally that is a freaking awesome guitarist (toured with Stevey Ray) has the forerunner of the dobro, a National. He's actually brought it on stage at the bar I was a partner in, we locked it up between sets because I didn't feel like killing people.
