Photos Knives & Guns

It's too low for a proper cheek weld and very unforgiving recoil wise. I put 80 rounds through it, and had no problem hitting the bullseye at 50 yards with a slight sight adjustment. I was very surprised by the accuracy and ease of shooting. Probably even more accurate if I shot from a rest and not standing. Definitely something I could hunt with.
You can hunt with proper hunting ammo, no problem, heavy enough bullet. Single shots are always fine with AK, especially when you got good gun and proper shooting habits.
You should get an 1 or sub moa group at 100 yards easily with this caliber from a rest, about 2 moa from shoulder.
Rear sign should be on "П" or 3, this way you cover up to 300 yards, you can fiddle with the front sight for elevation and windage but it
is best to do it from rest, IMO. Decent 7.62x39 ammo, out of a decent gun, will touch easily with single shots, up to 2-300 yards.
They are drills to teach you how to determine range using front sight and how to correct for a moving target.
If I dig out my Russian books I'll send you the screenshots with the range finding info if you're interested.

Cleaned the AK today. I have never seen a brand new gun that dirty after only 80 rounds, or really any gun. That red army stuff is nasty. Can't wait for my brass cased ammo to come.

I'm a poor boy after this purchase so probably hot dogs and ramens for dinner.

Go to ammoseek dot com and look for Golden Tiger 7.62x39 ammo. It's made by Vimpel and it's cleaner. Not much more but cleaner. Still non-corrosive primer and steel case
but cheap. Don't worry about steel cases hurting your chamber, it won't happen.
With brass cases you will most likely get some brass shavings out of your extractor (given it's the original and in good shape along with the spring), so don't be surprised if you see those in the gun's guts...

I promise, I'll have gun and knife in my next post. 🤣

It was a joke, but for sure. I almost bought a Ruger PC carbine yesterday as well, but with the car repair coming up, I was afraid to swing that much cash. Plus, I am completely out of space now in my safe. Selling my Remington 887 will help with that. Sigmund should be back in my possession soon. I still want a lever action and at least one more semi-auto pistol and one more revolver.
PC Carbines are a lot of fun.

Not a huge fan of some shady things going on there, but for the sake of defeating the KGB Colonel in Kremlin - Слава Украине !:thumbsup:
The knife is the excellent Magnacut and CF piece with yellow and blue spacer, made by Mr Terzuola for his Ukrainian Charity Lottery that I was so lucky to win !

I gotta say, while I enjoy shooting my AR-15 and Tavor, aesthetically and mechanically, I prefer the AK and M1 carbine. Guess I have a thing for wood. Maybe I'll have to have a wood stock and fore end made for the AR lol.

I will say, that the reactions of other people at the range when they see my Tavor, especially with the kryptek camo, never gets old. As a prank I should get a laser that pulses or something, really freak them out. I actually heard a kid (maybe 12) ask his dad when they can get one. Well not now, they're banned here!

Of the handguns I own, this is my favorite. Of the many, many handguns I've shot, this is in the top 5, possibly top 3. I've shot Glocks, CZ, 1911's, Walther, HK, Springfield, Beretta, just to name a few. It's 11 years old and I'm approaching the 3000 round mark with only one failure, which was a limp wrist FTE. I was able to shoot a Walther P99 AS this past weekend, which is a very close rival. The AS trigger and ambi controls are nice, though the recoil impulse was higher. Going to the range again this weekend.

I must admit…not familiar with .327 mag… What’s it comparable with And probably hard to find??
It's a newer round, it's I believe supposed to be less recoil than .357 magnum and better ballistics than .38 special. I've heard the tradeoff that it is very loud . It also allows you to carry 6 shots in a small frame revolver like an LCR, vs 5 for .357 mag.

A few years ago I toyed around the idea of getting a revolver in that caliber. I like revolvers, but would not carry one. I prefer to have at least 10 rounds in my carry gun. My Sig P365X SAS holds 14+1 with the modded 12 round mag. My Steyr M9-A1 holds 17+1.

The 327 mag is going to be between 38 special and 357 magnum in terms of energy. 100gr bullets at around 1400-1450 fps. The real benefit of the 327 mag is that you can also use 32 H&R Mag, 32 S&W Long, 32 S&W Short and 32 ACP in the revolver, which makes for a very versatile handgun. It is a very easy caliber to load for, from light plinking loads up to full magnums. Easy to practice with, and very accurate. Can hunt small game with the lighter rounds, and larger game as you continue up the power scale. Another benefit is the smaller diameter allows for 6 rounds instead of 5 in a Smith and Wesson J-Frame revolver. I wish they would make some more of them.

Ammo can sometimes be hard to find if you are looking for something specific, but 32 S&W long is normally readily available and is a great practice round.

K.O.D. K.O.D. and Ellis Wyatt Ellis Wyatt hit a lot of the important points. I'll add that I've been using .327 Federal for years. It was a great idea and honestly, it's still the cutting edge of revolver technology. Unfortunately, it was released too late in the popular life of the revolver, at a bad time economically, and with too few guns to support it. The initial marketing was limited too. It took a few years for a lever gun to be released and that was also a little too late. I feel like a new round has to either gain institutional acceptance (that ship has sailed on revolver rounds) or have a variety of guns available upon release. Some of these issues also plague the recent .30 Super Carry.

While I do enjoy shooting .327 Federal from longer barrels or my Henry, the main benefit to me has been use in the LCR. It is my favorite carry gun and part of that is the more curved shape versus small semi-autos. It just rides beautifully in a pocket holster and that makes it both the easiest and most versatile carry option for me. I had previously carried one in .38 +p but five rounds of that always felt a little behind the times. While going up to .357 magnum offered more power, it was still only five shots and the recoil is rough. It may be more sentimental than anything else but the .327 upgrade to a six-shooter feels significant and it does open up a huge spectrum via both its own loadings and all the other cartridges it can take.

While the warmer 100 grain loads approach .357 levels of recoil in the LCR, the 85-grain "low recoil" Hydra-Shoks are just about perfect. Felt recoil is literally indistinguishable from most .38 +p and I find it easy to control during drills. Sure, it is noticeably louder but so is .357 magnum and almost any round fired without hearing protection is going to hurt. At the end of the day, they let me carry six pills that comfortably deliver an 85-grain hollow-point with reliable expansion at ~1200fps from a pocket gun. ❤️

My buddy carries an LCR, and yeah, .357 is rough out of that. Carrying and shooting depends a lot upon your size, weight, and hand size. I'm 6'4" 250lbs and carry my Steyr no problem, I could probably even carry my 5.2" Canik TP9 SFX IWB at 3 O'Clock if I wanted to. However carrying it (with its 21 round mag) would make my pants hang like a gangbanger, so no. However, my buddy is 5'6" 150lbs and therefore the LCR is easier for him. However, I can only get a 2.5 finger grip on it, my pinky and ring finger are completely off of it, and my middle finger barely fits.

I feel like .30 super carry is stupid. 9mm recoil is not much to be honest. Even my 4'11" 66 year old mother shoots my P365x SAS with no complaints. Well other than that she prefers shooting the AR to anything else. I can't wait for our next range trip, when she can shoot the AK. I may lose yet another gun to her. Good thing we live in the same house.

Edited for editing purposes as I enjoy editing my edits:

I understand .327 Federal Mag, and I think it was/is a good round. Something with more power/velocity than .38 Special (and lets be honest, .38 +p is barely more than standard pressure these days), less recoil than .357, and most importantly, that extra round.

.30 super carry, makes no sense to me. You can already carry a bunch of 9mm rounds in a gun like the P365, Hellcat, Shield plus, etc, and 9mm recoil isn't that bad.
