Yeah I think my USP Expert and all the Glocks have polygonal
Only H&K have true polygonal barrel, in fact, Glock barrels are designed by H&K in Ferlach, Gaston ordered the barrel there with condition to have rifling that will last longer...
What they did was, they offered him back two types of rifling - conventional and one with ridges with rounded edges, like the barrel was worn. Gaston picked the second offering and called it "polygonal" even it wasn't the same true polygonal barrel as the H&K had on their guns... Anyway, as most things Glock, the rifling work just fine, I was skeptical before shooting it but with all of their negatives, Glocks are very reliable guns, I own two of those and love them, they have the Lego factor that no other gun has... IMO.
CZ clones like IMI Jerichos or EA Witness
All three are very good guns, the Witness is IMO little bit on the sport site, but the Jericho is very smooth shooting pistol, again - IMO, but of course, I could be mistaking...

Sorry for the off topic, here is trivia one for the thread: What's the caliber ?

9×23mm Largo :) Just a guess, but it was my first. Those RATS are shiny. I never had one, but do have a few OKC's (fixed blades).

.38 super?

No Sir

Very close really, considering the development of the two cartridges but No Sir.

Yes Sir, we have a winner. A some how rare cartridge novadays. I love it, very flat trajectory for pistol cartridge,
close to .357Sig energy in 1911 style package.
Thank you for playing
Ahhh, I thought since we were discussing the 9x17, 9x18, 9x19 series etc... it would be Largo... couldn't tell by the extractor rims in the pic assuming those were .38 Supers in the pic but I figured that was a STAR 9x23 rather than a 1911... oops...

People still buy the .38 Super 1911's (usually RIA) especially if they are planning on converting them to 9mm in places with a hand gun restriction ("safety" roster of approved hand guns) like CA. Personally, I have a .45 ACP 1911 and a 9mm 1911. That's enough 1911's for me.

Now we can talk Glocks in 9x25 Dillon (800 ft lbs), hahah.

My choice for (full-house) .357 MAG energies would be 10mm in a Glock where it can hold 18 rounds of those rockets and still look normal without a obvious drop magazine... revolvers definitely cannot do that, and you do not need to spend COONAN dollars to do it just to try and shoot a cartridge not designed for an AUTO LOADER.

You are very close, obviously you have knowledge of the timeline and the history of the two cartridges and some 1911 specifics
My gun is an old Lamma in .38 Super, a 1911 style gun that placed my interest of guns on much more serious level, about 33 years ago...
It's nothing really special as a gun but I'm very emotionally attached to it, it was a gift from my late father in law who got me hooked up with guns and research.
It's not very presentable, it's a project in the works but I'll shoot few pictures later just for the heck of it...
IMO, 1911 should be in .45acp, I've shot enough of those in 9mm and I like it, especially the double stacks but it's not the .45...
2011 is different story but also different gun, so...

Ha ha ha... Serious stuff... I know Glocks but everything over .357Sig and some .10mm auto is Dark Area for me, I admit...

1911 is next on my list of handguns to buy. I was supposed to get one for my 18th birthday/high school graduation. My grandfather died 6 months prior. He had left all his guns to me, but my aunt managed to steal his Colt Combat Commander and gave it to her son instead. 26 years later I'm still pissed about it. My grandfather and I have the same name and he had that name engraved on the gun. I did get to see it once, he showed it to me right before died. Blued steel. I don't know what 1911 I'll get, financially I'm not quite there yet. I'd like to get a Colt just for posterity.

I'm carrying one of my grandfather's guns today, 1958 (I believe) S&W Model 36, .38spl. I'll post a pic soon. I've never carried this gun before, just got a Remora clipless IWB/pocket holster for it.

Man, that pisses me off... sorry to hear that. I hope you get it back someday, somehow.
