Ah, found it. Thanks. And please accept my sincere condolences, Ryan.
Time heals. Trust me on that. You’ll never forget, but at some point, your thoughts will focus on the good memories, and instead of grief, you’ll feel gratitude for the time you had. I’m at that point with losing my son.

And thank you for showing me that The Lounge would have been the place for me to have talked about that loss.

Yessir. Guess I’d better set up my little rack and grow lights pretty soon!

What does the box call the 2nd one? I’d guess a whittler? Super knives, my friend!

Hey! I can do that too!View attachment 2077256
Totin a SW 879, and one of my rescues, a Kutmaster linesman/electrician. Previous owner had horribly sharpened the main, and “reshaped” the utility blade into a ridiculous spear point. I bought it just to fiddle around with, View attachment 2077254View attachment 2077255
Nice looking pairing
1911 is next on my list of handguns to buy. I was supposed to get one for my 18th birthday/high school graduation. My grandfather died 6 months prior. He had left all his guns to me, but my aunt managed to steal his Colt Combat Commander and gave it to her son instead. 26 years later I'm still pissed about it. My grandfather and I have the same name and he had that name engraved on the gun. I did get to see it once, he showed it to me right before died. Blued steel. I don't know what 1911 I'll get, financially I'm not quite there yet. I'd like to get a Colt just for posterity.

I'm carrying one of my grandfather's guns today, 1958 (I believe) S&W Model 36, .38spl. I'll post a pic soon. I've never carried this gun before, just got a Remora clipless IWB/pocket holster for it.
Sound unanimous we are pissed that happened
Nice looking revolver

Nearly half of my collection is older than I am. 1920ish, 1944, 1958, 1968, and I'm guessing late 50's early 60's for the Westernfield shotgun. I was manufactured in 1979, but I still haven't been able to locate my serial number.

How do you like the P2 so far?

This is my first ACRO and I haven't shot it yet. However, first impressions are quite good. I run RMRs on my other handguns and it seems a little easier to pick up the dot on presentation with the ACRO. Maybe it's the thicker picture frame helps. I dunno. My only concern is the size. I don't think it will be a problem but time will tell. If I bang it around too much, I will put it on my LS Edge that stays in the car.

The ACRO holds so many advantages over the RMR I just had to try one. Hopefully I can get out and shoot it soon. I picked up the new FN545 and have yet to shoot it either.

I have a few Aimpoint PRO's on AR's and the Micros probably have the best glass and zero parallax compared to all the clones, but never thought about the hand gun options. The enclosed type red dots are getting popular. My cousin shoots a HS 509... I have one that is a convertible - the FF4.

They all work... I dunno why the trend is towards larger attachments on top the slide though.

Good to know - I’m not a fan of exposed emitters so I’ve always been intrigued by the ACRO line. It is a giant toaster on a slide. I’ve mulled over getting one, but I wonder how it will work with my Safariland holsters and even if it will be compatible. I’m not too keen on having to get another $200+ holster just for an optic.

You are very close, obviously you have knowledge of the timeline and the history of the two cartridges and some 1911 specifics
My gun is an old Lamma in .38 Super, a 1911 style gun that placed my interest of guns on much more serious level, about 33 years ago...
It's nothing really special as a gun but I'm very emotionally attached to it, it was a gift from my late father in law who got me hooked up with guns and research.
It's not very presentable, it's a project in the works but I'll shoot few pictures later just for the heck of it...
IMO, 1911 should be in .45acp, I've shot enough of those in 9mm and I like it, especially the double stacks but it's not the .45...
2011 is different story but also different gun, so...

Ha ha ha... Serious stuff... I know Glocks but everything over .357Sig and some .10mm auto is Dark Area for me, I admit...
I had a Lamma 9mm yrs ago but sold it along the way, kinda wish I hadn’t now…I liked that one, nothing special, it was 1911 format but plain, but it worked and fired well.
I’ve been shooting 10mm for 25+ yrs and it’s still my favorite overall caliber when shot with appropriate load/power and platform, like G20, XD etc…and full sized…I don’t like it in compact form at all but just my .02 worth.

I’ve tried them on a couple for edc and don’t like them in that role really, I kept it on one only right now…maybe when my eyes start getting worse, I’ll change my mind 😁
