Don't laugh now. I can't use a rifle, shotgun or handgun to try and discourage a certain racoon bandit that seems to like my bird feeders. I've been making him jump with a BB rifle that has to be pumped about 10 times to get off a shot.

I also smeared some Frank's hot sauce on the baffle and pole leading to the feeder. It seems to keep him away unless it has rained or is raining.

I remembered this Daisy 45 pellet pistol that has been squirrelled away for about 30 years now. I got some pellets, put a new CO2 cartridge in it, set up a target at 30' or so, and was able to get some decent shots. If he doesn't move too fast, I should be able to tag him at least once, maybe twice when he's hanging upside down on my feeder. Either way, it'll be fun!

I was pleasantly surprised to find it in working order after all these years. Got the Malibu in the shot since I might get real lucky and have to skin him, and it matches the Daisy! 😂

Nice collection! Do you find those mags reliable? Mine started as a bump stock but when it was made illegal it turned into this. The receiver, bolt & sub 2 lbs volquartsen trigger are all that is left from previous build
Yeah the Black Dog stuff always works well for me in AR22's or Sig522... even the drums. I have a lot of BD box mags. The GSG seems reliable, but I mostly shoot the butler creeks still with a crank loader or the BX models... which have been reliable since I got them in the 90's but I think one Butler Creek sometimes sticks a little with rimfire bullet wax buildup. I still prefer box mags, but when we get a chance to buy mags around here we go nuts.

Airguns are fun and useful for sure... I have a Nitro Piston .22 and a bunch of pistols like G19 and Crosmans, revolvers, Steel Force, Steel Storm, 1077, 1077 PCP, etc... cheap to shoot and a trigger pull is practice no matter the gun. I had a old Auto Air II that I loved because the trigger was so bad it helped my centerfire Glock trigger control a lot but it finally died. When I bought a couple cheap "semi auto" BB guns to replace it I was surprised how decent they are now.

I had one of those. Stopped working after about 20k rounds. I had the Daisy pump rifle too. When I was 14 my grandfather gave me a pellet rifle and pistol set that he bought in the 70s by Weirauch. They kick like a .22 but are only single shot. However, they are powerful. I was in the yard when I was maybe 17 and a crow was chasing my neighbors daughter next door. One shot that crow was dead.

I have been shooting in a few weeks, I'm due to go. It's gotten to the point where it's difficult to choose what to bring. I don't have the strength to carry even half of everything plus ammo. Next trip will be the Canik TP9 SFX, Sig P365SAS X (always), Beretta PX4 .40 (try out a new recoil spring/rod), Tabor SAR (new Geiselle trigger bow), and the AK.

Sadly, my Steyr M9 is temporarily retired. It has an issue with the ejector/extractor, and getting hot brass up my nose does not make for a fun day. Unfortunately, it's a known but uncommon problem, and my research thus far has not found a fix other than bending the metal where it grabs the spent case, which I am not confident doing. Too bad, 6k rounds and only 1 malfunction.

Amazon sells this pepper spray to keep animals at bay and it has wax in it too....Lasts thru most rain except the heaviest... I also doctor it up with a one million Scoville unit pepper oil concentrate too!!!!!

I learned the hard way to make sure to be upwind when spraying it too!!😭😭😜😜😜.

Also keeps people's dogs from pissin' on my trees and shrubs too...👍👍👍

Is it the lighting of was the slide decorated with a greenish tint? Did you give up on the thermonuclear 10mm?
It’s just the lighting, it’s still basic black…Oh how dare You say “give up the 10mm” !! He’s called GrandDad and is a low serial numbered Gen2 thats Family for Life 😁👍🏼. It’s my overall favorite caliber but I grew up shooting/hunting with it also.

What holster are you using for the Commander?

Man, I'm ashamed to admit that I ain't much of a disclipined "carry" guy. Usually, I just keep a loaded 1911 on the transmission "hump" (*of whatever vehicle I'm driving) when I go out at night here in the big/diverse/inclusive "Sh!t'tropolis".

If, for some reason, I feel the need to strap the ol' "Commander" onto my person, I have a really well-made paddle holster that I use. (*It's about 25-30 years old and still works "MAH-VUH-LESS-LY")

No shame there my friend…I just wondered how you carried it if you did bc of the weight etc. I have full sized guns that are hard to carry that make great car/truck/house options just like you said. I know a couple guys who carry 1911s but they open carry and that’s just not my thing…no issue with their choice just not my style.
