I don't want to sort of hijack the thread with only gun stuff so here are my two pictures from today
crufflers
---> Thank you Sir for the info on the lever action, its unbelievable what you can do with a AR platform !!! I really want to spend more time to look at those models,
I enjoy very much the lines of the classic stock with the clean AR receiver and the whole setup in general.
About the Glocks - I totally agree with your whole post. I did few Zev triggers on some friends and for drop in units they are very good... I had very good luck for myself with setting up the Ghost connectors.
In fact I did about 7-8 of them on friends, after they like the way my Rocket was adjusted to shorten the pre and over travel. Took me a little time but I did a decent job,
I actually did 4 Rugers SR9, including my son's gun, and they are still working with no issues. Another mod that I did fairly well was the polishing of the trigger bars, also the safety pin/plunger - I had those rounded up and actually I did years ago about ten of those for some GT members, some LEOs, and they were very happy with the result
( I never charge for such things and I never offer to do it if I didn't test use it for a period of time, few hundred round at least)
So I think I got the Glocks well worked up, a well known Glock personality is actually working next door to me and I can always get to his shop and ask about help - Johnny Glock, if you heard about him.
I like aftermarket parts but I tend to use primarily OEM parts, because they are cheap reliable, and I can mod those without worrying that will waste much $$, plus they have more of a combat tolerances than sport setup.
What I try to squeeze from such projects is level of performance with reliability, but done with inexpensive OEM parts, sometimes moded... You have to spend some $$ for some good parts, this is understandable
and there is nothing wrong about it but you have to know what type of gun you need. I would always go for Zev, Timney or or Geiselle kits if I look for some top setup.
The whole RD setup is new to me and I'm still learning stuff so I'll take any input I can, I love to learn such things and take under account more experienced advices.
This is obviously after market slide gen3 G22 - original bluing, no markings (I love it !). The slide have very nicely, exactly in the specs, cut for Trigicon RMR pattern RD and the Viridian model for RMR slide fits there perfectly !
Conversion Lone Wolf 40-9 threaded barrel, impeccable work from their early days, really good fit drop-in fit and sharp, love the fact that with little bit more length and heavier barrel, it gives me little bit more velocity (measured) and not to worry about the pressure with 124 up to 158 grain ammo.
Tungsten guiderod, 15lb flat spring, extended slide stop with narrower channel so the barrel locks tighter and gives you constant positioning. Those were made by a gunsmith, long time ago, a member of GT
but I'm not sure if he does those now, however you can find some in Glock Store, Lenny have his own I believe.
I ran a trick with the trigger spring for years, thing that I learned from a good friend of mine, IPSC shooter: You take the green NY trigger insert, get rid of the spring and install it along with your Ghost connector.
It give you very close to 1911 trigger pull and break, I have lots of compliments on the range, worked fine, but I went back with this project to the OEM spring, will see how it works and if I need to I'll work on it.
Extended controls, I like those because I don't carry this gun in a holster and I don't have to worry about dragging in my shirt.
Almost forgot - I'll have a stippling done on the frame, if you have Instagram, check Battlecock Tactical (km3solutions dot com), I'd like to remove some of the grooves on the front strap, will keep my beavertail and will have the guy to undercut the trigger guard where the middle finger is, gives you really nice high/tight grip.
I got the tall sights today and installed it, they look taller on the picture but actually the window of this Viridian is so large, that there is plenty of room for the sight without obstructing the green dot.
If I'm around I'll get also a 9mm suppressor so they will be in use for this matter too.

---> Hey man, really sorry for the messaging messup, I tried to clean those but couldn't find the option for it in my settings... I'll dig around but if you don't mind you can always email me on my posted in the profile email: three.eigh.super at gmail I would love to hear your advice, I believe you gave me few pointers before and I took those under account when I was putting together my project !
About the green dot, you need to try it in order to make sure it'll work for your astigmatism... It was recommended to me and it does work if I extend my arms completely straight and not wearing glasses.
However it works much better with glasses and I see absolutely round dot, compared to the red one on my Viper, that I almost never can see round.

Working on Glocks is very rewarding. I love the gen3 RTF's! Personally I had bad luck with Ghost connectors. I prefer the ZEV V4 Race or even alternatives like the Lantacs.
