My Tavor functions flawlessly but it smells so bad after a few hundred rounds I have to clean it. My knee is finally healed enough that I should be able to install the new recoil spring which is supposed to help with this issue. My Ruger MK II Gov't Competition model was a gift for my 20th birthday, so I can't sell it. I rarely shoot it, its pretty much the gun I start new shooters on.
You don’t like the smell? I love the smell of a well shot Firearm! Reminds me of victory!

Normally that doesn’t bother, but with so much coming through the action, and the location of the ejection port, it’s quite a blast. Some of my smmo is older American eagle, and it is suffocating and eye stinging.

Usually it’s the eastern bloc “stick type powders?” that have a strong Ammonia type smell. I’m surprised that it’s white box USA stuff. Is it 7.62 x 39 or .223 nato ?

.223.

I may buy a Tavor yet! Like I really need an addition to the Arsenal! .. I know, there’s always room for one more in the stable .…..I’m kinda partial to 7.62 x 39 mainly cause I have ample stock of Eastern block stinky ammo! along with Yugo & Chi-Com SKS rifles…LOLZ
