My son’s uniform. I bought the M18 while he was in boot camp.

Hope it helps
Thanks. The design flaw literally damages the bolt over time, which is why I rarely shoot it. It was my grandfather's, and .308 ain't cheap.

I think next I'll get a lever gun. Shooting my buddy's Henry golden boy in .44 mag was a hoot. I think I'll just go .357 mag as I don't really want to add ANOTHER caliber. .45-70 government would be cool though.

That one would probably just be admired.
I have a Marlin lever action 44 and I love it. Been a long time since I shot it. That will have to change on the next range trip.
Agree 45-70 would be a cool addition.

The 760 pretty much sits in the safe, other than occasional lube. If the recoil pad helps, I'd like to hunt with it if I can find someone to teach me. I'm probably going grouse hunting in September with a friend in Colorado but that's shotguns. I've never hunted anything except a deer with my SUV's front end.

Grouse hunting sounds awesome. My upland bird hunting has been pheasants. Deer hunting is a blast. Would be cool to take one with that rifle.

Nice setup.
As I understand these revolvers the barrel aligns with the bottom cylinder not the top. How much different does that make your aim?
That is correct. Even shooting .357, there is very little muzzle rise and its easy to get back on target. If you have largest hands you have to be careful with your grip though or you can get burned by the bottom cylinder exhaust gases. The adjustable fiber optic sights are great too. love the gun. Never thought I'd be comfortable putting 50+ rounds of .357 down range at once, including some defensive ammo.

Nice.

You're correct about the gases and being more forgiving with the recoil.
Once you lower bore axis its bio-mechanics. The recoil vector seats lower than your wrist, giving you better support from your
forearm bones instead of the soft joint of your wrist, and you handle the snappy .357 mag better.
It's an interesting revo, maybe down the line you can share some targets from various distances, it's interesting to see it IMO.
