Same rifle ('66 Winnie carbine) and different blades:

This was my favorite CAS competition carbine because of how smooth the action was. I also had an older, JM-marked, microgroove Marlin 1894 carbine in .357 which I used from time to time, mostly when longer-range targets were involved. I would [legally] use full-up .357 rounds, and that ol' Marlin would deliver them directly on target!!!! The action just wasn't as smooth as the '66 Winnie.

For quite some time I've wanter a lever action rifle. I just had my birthday and decided to buy one. I'd been looking at .357 because I have a .357 revolver and two .38spl revolvers, but they are hard to find in a configuration I like. I ended up deciding on a used but unfired 1970 Winchester 1894 Lone Star commemorative edition ijb.30-30. I should have it Thursday. I'll post a pic then. It has a 26" barrel.

K.O.D. K.O.D. Levers are addicting, just fyi and hard on the check book. I’ve got 4 now but I still haven’t found one in.357.
My buddy got a Henry last summer in .44 and I liked it.

This one I'm not paying for, sort of. My mom is getting remarried and wanted a gun for her husband's house in Colorado so she's giving me the cash for this plus some extra birthday money in exchange for my Sig M400 Tread Snakebite. She loves that gun and is super accurate with it. I prefer my left handed Tavor.

My only qualm about buying this one is how expensive .30-30 is. Thankfully the new job pays well. I'll post picks of the new gun when I pick it up Thursday.

Anyway, here is a gun pic from my hotel nightstand.
