Photos Knives & Guns

I have seen people carrying 1911s and saw that their hammer was down. Either they have a round in the chamber, or they don’t. If they do have a round in the chamber with hammer down, the 1911 is not drop safe, unless it’s a series 80 with the firing pin plunger safety. It they don’t have one in the chamber and the hammer is down, well, that’s Israeli carry and that’s their funeral. I have a series 70 with no firing pin safety plunger, so it’s always hammer cocked, safety on, with a round in the chamber.

No debate on Condition 1. Always for me now, see my photos.

Was just wondering on the additional round in the chamber, because it's a bit of a PITA to get it in there (magazine in, magazine out and top-off, and in again ....).

Regarding Israeli carry in Condition 3, I read that and told myself that they also carry a rifle ...

Interestingly enough, Longmire carries Condition 2. Hollywood .... :)

I carry all my 1911's with chamber loaded, hammer locked and locked. I will not carry a hammer fired pistol with chamber loaded and hammer down. That is just me. Some do and that works for them.

I myself like my entertainment a little darker, for instance:

I really liked wind river. I’m not familiar with standard practices up north but one thing that bothered me about it was the drilling operations shutting down for a period of time and a security team being on location with automatic weapons. Other than that it was pretty entertaining and well produced

Typically drilling operations are 24/7 365. Rarely does weather change that. Regardless there would still be company employees present but far fewer of them. There was also steam coming off the mud pits IIRC so that would mean there is equipment running thus necessitating company employee presence, not just security personnel

There is a real problem with Native American young women disappearing on a regular basis here. One of the reasons that I liked the movie.

We should go back on subject, I guess .....

Did you guys see that you can buy nice / like new Colt take-off wooden grips for next to nothing ?

I rotated my carry guns. With shorts its the P365X SAS in a beltless holster. The rest depends on what im doing and where im going. The Steyr M9 A1 got the most time since its been flawless through over 8k rounds. The Rhino got carried in the woods where I might more power vs capacity.

Once my shoulder is healed up more im gonna take the class and get the permit.
