Great combo. The Quartermaster is such an awesome knife.

I couldn't agree more. It's definitely in the "Top 5" of all the knives I own...quite possibly in the "Top 3". Mike and Matt did a phenomenal job with the redux.

It's virtually impossible to keep something the same and make it better at the same time. In my humble opinion, they managed to pull that off...

Perfectly stated.

And the Quartermaster EDC has become one of my favorite daily fixed blades. Again - taking a full-size design, shrinking it down and call it the "EDC" version doesn't always work either, but Mike and Matt nailed that as well:

For being knives and guns, I don't recall seeing any nickel plated sissy pistols. Personally, it's pretty much the plastic fantastic or blued wheelguns.

When I'm not broke, a 1911 is on my list. Wish I could afford that gorgeous Cabot my doctor bought, buy I don't have $8k lying around.

I'm not sure it's quite what you're talkin' about, but I almost quoted Smithhammer's post and posted a pic of my Dad's (RIP) ol' Colt .380 "Government"...in electroless nickel...with one of my Barky Q-knife EDCs.

Maybe tomorrow, if I get some time.

EDIT- A 1911 is ALWAYS a good choice, in my humble opinion. But...Man!...they're all expensive nowadays. (*...as I reckon most "antiques" are. 🤣)
