RLB0414 RLB0414 You are absolutely correct. We in Sarasota never had direct hit even with Irma (I’m at the very edge of SRQ county but 11mI off the shore inland, but few storms came very close and did significant damage. I remember Charlie, tore up pretty much everything South of Venice. Two storms that actually crossed paths right where I live but not that close as this one… The force of nature makes you to realize how small and insignificant you are on the path of the 100miph wind and rain, flying horizontally…
‘But I love it here. Will never go anywhere else…

I saw flooding photos on a different social media site and had several discussions with the owner of the RV park I resided in while in Bradenton. When mandatory evac orders came in, she did not give people a choice. They backed rv's nose to tail in the road of the park in a effort to keep everything safe and drove away.
The photos from RV parks around Myakka river were surreal. Large fifth trailers with water above them king pins.
We are insignificant when it comes to forces of nature.
I understand what you are saying. It is home.

Hey man, J John A. Larsen , you can call me Jordan instead of troubling yourself to spell my Bulgarian nick-name 🤣
This is a “knife” given to me by a Bulgarian friend, it suposed to be some form of Seax, hammered and forged in another friends shop. No-name steel, some rags covered with Epoxy for handle.
‘Very comfortable handle for chopping. It is a convex grind but the interesting thing is - both radiuses on both sides of the blade are slightly different. This way, regardless what you’re chopping, the blade doesn’t stuck in the material.
‘I’d say, “interesting piece of equipment”…

My home is my fortres. Come and get it, whoever you are.
‘I do have a house in Sarasota but 06 we built this one right on SR70 and my Bulgarian @55 was living happily with my local redneck. God bless them, I love them all. Awesome neighbors, we drink and shoot together in our backyards, lots of local LEOs in my neighborhood, good friends of mine, lots of friends in Sarasota. Love the place, there iis nothing in the world as Siesta and Bradenton, AMI beaches. Maybe just some Cali beaches can compare.
‘Yes, hurricane is a force you have to face to understand and believe. The thing is, I love rain and bad weather, Im in my element in the dark, in the middle of the storm and nowhere, I live for this. When younger, I spent 2-3 years in than USSR, Komi republic, below 30 Celsius and wither from beginning of September all the way till May… 😂 I’m not moving from FL, besides I love the political no-nonsens environment here, not moving out…

POCEH KOCEB POCEH KOCEB , I know what you mean. Sounds like a great group of friends you also call neighbors.bbthere is something about a rain storm and the darkness. I am not a beach person but even enjoyed those in the area.

I’m from FL and have been directly hit by several, the latest bad one was Michael, and those are devastating no matter what you do to prepare etc. Some places never fully recover imo.
