I keep
a couple of road flares
Cheapie pre-packaged Tool kit
Gal of water
An extra jacket if it is winter
Tire gauge
Flashlight
Jumper cables

Knife is in my pocket. Don't need one in the trunk.

Ex-Angeleno. Angeleno for 45 years. Gotta have stuff in case you get stranded by an earthquake when you are a FWY driver.

I keep two flashlights, a knife, and a multi-tool in the glovebox or console of all of our cars. Three of our cars have the Kershaw Vapor II, one has a CRKT Point Guard, and one has a Buck Strider. Three of them also have Leatherman Kick multitools, one has an early LM Wave, and one has my old LM PSTII.

Current Winter Kit in the trucks: jumper cables, road flares, camp shovel, 30 ft. logging chain with hooks, big Maglite, scraper, starting fluid, de-icer, and Slim Jims.

Knives, LED's, etc. in the consoles.

Against State laws to carry knives inside the interior of a motor vehicle such as in a glove box, in door pockets or under seats.

So I guess if it I carried a blade, it would have to be carried in the trunk in a tool box, probably locked... a ringed razel comes to mind as been the most tool like knife I would consider.

Leatherman Super Tool. Blackjack Campanion. German army shovel. Snow & Nealley Hudson Bay ax. One of several knives on my person. Plus: Flares. Matches. Aluminum survival suits (2). 14 ft. HD jumper cables. Tow rope. Fluorescent red vest. Water bottles. Cell phone.

Bonkers: where do u live that u cant carry a knife? RIDICULOUS!!!

i always carry a knife and my leatherman blast on me at all times but i have a buck lockback as well as another leatherman in the gloveobx. i also found an old japanese kitchen knife behind my seat for some reason...dont ask me!

that is ridiculous, you should loophole it and keep a chainsaw in the cab

RAT-7 and Fiskars 8" hatchet in the tool box in the trunk. Multi-tool in the bug out bag. Spydie folder in the glove compartment, just in case I forget my EDC. Which has never happened.

In the truck at all times. Water, MRE's, flares, jumper cables, two ton jack, tire irons, tool kits, tow cables/hooks, tie downs, first aid kit, various cord and tarps, at least one folder and fixed blade(they change at times), 12V compressor, and some other stuff that I probably forgot about. This does not include various knives, guns, and other devices that I EDC. I always like to be able to survive for a week stuck in a ditch with what's within reach.

+1. Also got a flashlight in my pocket, if it's night, or going to be night.

In my truck tool box= tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, jumper cables, tarp, and eventually a bug out bag with all kinds of survival crap in it.

I keep a Magnum air light knife in the center consul. I think everybody should keep a knife they can open one handed in their car within reach. I think about obtaining another cheap knife to put in one of the compartments by both of the doors. Just in case I ever have to cut myself out of a seat belt. My Rossi snub nose .357MAG is for defense, in case you were wondering if I keep the knife for that purpose. Oh and a got a trunk kit and GHB in the trunk.

It's a work vehicle- so a goofy variety of tools - in terms of knives -carry a CRKT/MacGowan MAK-1 - simply a tough useful tool for prying, chopping and tough cutting tasks.

Leatherman Surge in the console.

Leatherman Charge Xti in the GHB in trunk
Benchmade Fixed Grip in GHB in trunk

plus, if I'm driving, I'll be carrying a Leatherman Charge TTi, Benchmade Mini-Grip, and sometimes a Bark River Mini-Northstar in a pocket sheath.

Do you think 3 multi-tools are enough? ;)

Never! :D

At the moment, I keep a BM710 (154cm), a SOG Powerlock multitool, and an 18-inch machete.

The Powerlock sees the most use (naturally). I like the pliers, since i can really get a good grip on objects stuck in my tires (the latest being some kind of sleeve - for a RedHead, I think - that deflated my tire but quick).

GAK in the glove box and a Mora in the boot.

I've always got an EDC as well.

I'd like to add an axe but that would be a problem with the laws over here.:(
