Knives of the 2015 Blade Show • Past homages, Future visions, Present skills •

Lots of nice photos Jim I really like what you did with all my knives but the close up of the dagger well that is my new screen saver.

Thank you Jim. I always look forward to these threads. So many knives I was not able to see and now I can. I love the sets of MS and JS knives. One of the few times you will get to see them all together as a set. So much time, sweat, tears, and frustration goes into making these presentation knives and you do them justice. Both Veronique and Jean Louis had knives that were an homage to John and his beautiful take downs. Good stuff.
Brion

Thank you Brion. the absence of John White blade to leave us all a big empty.
Thank you Jim our work is highlighted by your picture.
Your pictures are beautiful.

Hello everybody

Thank you so much Jim for your beautifull pictures, it was a pleasure to meet you and your team.
Thank you to all those who encouraged me during bladeshow, it means a lot to me.

Great thread, Jim, thanks for sharing the wonder!

And Lin, thanks for sharing the story about John and Veronique. I'm quite sure we'll never stop missing John, he was special to so many.

And to Dave Lisch: congrats and about time! :D

Hi everyone,

Thank you SO much for taking a moment to comment and praise these knives. I appreciate the nods, as well.

I spent the afternoon editing, yet I only got about a dozen finished. I'm still waiting for approvals to filter in, then I will post.

This is really going to be a colorful and diverse thread. It's going to take a while.

Coop

Coop, you are an awesome guy.

p.s. never seen Levi Miller's work before, but he's definitely on my radar now.

I handled both Veronique and Jean Louis' MS Test knives. Both makers forge amazing steel and and execution on both sets were exemplary.

Thanks, Lorien. :)

You probably WON'T see much of Levi's work. He has no email and probably no internet. Amish tradition? I may be assuming, but it's plausible.

He SURE knows how to make a very nice knife. Or five.

We can only hope to see more somewhere! :D

Coop

Thanks for sharing Coop...really cool to see all the awesome blades even though I couldn't attend!

I can see why, beautiful set! Congrats!

Hello everybody

Welcome! Beautiful knives!

Time for more...

Joel Davis is a madman genius. If you have ever met him he's a wonderful character with an artistic mind which won't let up.

This 'folding machete' was a monster. I used the $100 bill to give you a sense of scale.

This knife sculpture is an interesting project. Collector Tim Raines gathered all the materials for this, and enlisted craftsman Mario Marcella to create it. 'Knives in Stone' is their website to appreciate more.

This was a Sunday early morning project and it takes frontal and overhead lighting to show correctly. Not my norm, but it came out nicely.

Paul Jarvis from Cambridge, MA created this Japanese inspired fighter.

Speaking of RWL styles, I was fortunate to have a contingent of top-level Japanese makers offer me their work.

### Note###

The Bladeforums server (?) is acting up on me again. I can't post more then three images in a post. LOL! It just hangs when I try to post more. What...ever.

Terrific new pieces in the recent update. Love the fullered Knight hunter / utility, the chunky Hogstrom folder and the Hanson Damascus / stag slippies. Sam's black maple fighter is a thing of lethal beauty.

Stunning, and the knives, too, buddy....missed chatting with you guys for a few monuments this year.

Thanks, Coop, for posting this - especially for those who could not be there. I really liked how you started out with the collections of three of the five new MS makers so we could easily compare and contrast the pieces. I especially liked doing that with the daggers.

Other personal faves on this thread include Paul Jarvis' little fighter. He is so creative and "outside the box" and I always enjoy chatting with him at Blade, and missed that this year. I also liked all of Shigeno's knives and the Shinozaki subhilt.

Coop, I am amazed and honored that you are using my work (and yours) for your avatar. You've always been a Bud.
