I was so busy in the studio room, I missed gladhanding Jerry Fisk and Logan. They both delivered these. Logan or Jerry: give us an account of what you have here?

Thanks for the great work, Coop! Was good to see ya at the show.

Love this shot, especially the reflection of the guards in the tangs. Very cool!

Butch Deveraux's knives are as purposeful and easy to hold as they are sharp. :D

...and I mean SHARP! This long fighter has a rolled edge and it took off a little of my thumb as I cleaned it. trimmed it like peeling a potato. I never felt it, it was that sharp. Just the blood made me aware...

Mark Knapp only makes it LOOK easy.

Thanks for the great photos Jim I appreciate it greatly!

I'm also excited to see all of the other photos ... I was really busy testing for my JS and manning my table (Blade Show Virgin) ... so i didn't get to see all of these fantastic blades!

Showing just how diverse Mark Knapp can be, he mixes utility, with function and high art. All with creative engineering genius.

You have seen Nathan's W.I.P on this, but to hold it closely is a whole 'nuther level of appreciation. Masterful work.

Bertie Rietveld takes our breath away with his steel, his style, and his steadfast attention to detail.

I'm going to close today's offerings with a solid long look at Mark Knapp's incredible Persian fighter. If you are glancing at this, you NEED to read and watch the entire WIP unfold to really appreciate how intricate this piece is.

What a pleasure! Thanks for watching.

More treats. Excellent. I really dig those Podmajersky utilities - so sleek and elegant. A slender sheath with a pocket clip would make for a nice steakhouse carry. :)

That Knapp Ulu (?) would look ever so awesome on my desk, and the Persian fighter is so very WOW!

Thank you Roger, and thank you Coop.

I have edited my first post with some observations about the weekend.

Mamoro always does wonderful knives. The Sheffield Bowie is pure art as is anything done and this one in particular by Paul Jarvis. The Persian that Mark did is simply top drawer. Thanks again Coop for all the great images so we can all enjoy the show.

Loving the images so far. I didn't get to see every knife that came in so its still a huge treat. Thank you so much for the opportunity to be a part of this. I was honored to help and it turned out to be a fantastic time.

Hey Coop, we all know how much time it takes to post photos, then reply back to comments, on a "major" show recap... Thank you so much.. There are so many examples of makers work that I'm not familiar with.. Seeing them expertly photographed here, then researching the makers a bit makes for a great way to spend an evening..

I imagine it must be hard for you to select a cross section of what to show... I hope the thread continues to get many views and more comments and photos are added... Best Regards, Rich Slaughter

I agree completely. An artistic perspective, obviously, but this image also accurately conveys a lot of important information about fit and finish on the steel and scales as well as volumes about the contouring. You've outdone yourself this year with images that not only wow the viewer but render the knives with honesty and accuracy. Thanks for your commitment, your artistry and your generosity in sharing so much with us here.

Thanks again Coop - as someone unable to attend this year, I particularly appreciate the way you portray and PROMOTE the great knives AND knife makers in a way the gives me the "flavor" of Blade 2015

The images are, as always, spectacular and I can see how you've "evolved" over time with your photos, in the same way that the the best knife makers do with their work:

a recognizable STYLE combined with subtle improvements in technique and presentation.

I'm also appreciative of the fact that you always give credit where credit is due, and acknowledge those who've helped you - again, something I believe the best makers do as well.

I hope you maintain your enthusiasm for years to come - you're certainly helping sustain the world of custom knives !

Bill
